WWE Friday Night SmackDown overnight ratings drop below 2 million viewers after 2020 high last week

The overnight ratings are in for Friday’s WWE SmackDown episode from St. Petersburg, Florida at Tropicana Field.

The episode drew an average of 1.915 million viewers, which is down from last Friday’s SmackDown episode that did an average of 3.336 million viewers on FOX.

The first hour saw it pull in 1.996 million viewers while hour two did 1.834 million viewers. The show did 4.097 million viewers in hour one while hour two did 2.574 million viewers a week ago. The show did go up against a college football semi-final playoff game on ESPN.

It also pulled in an average of 0.50 rating in the 18-49 demographic, which was #2 for the night. That is down the 0.95 rating in the 18-49 demographic the show did last week.

It has to be noted that the reason for such a great increase in last week’s numbers is due to it airing right after the NFL game between Saints and Vikings on FOX. It was the highest viewed episode of the blue branded show of 2020.

SmackDown was in the middle of the pack for the night among the networks in viewership. It was behind 20/20, Magnum P.I., Blue Bloods, Shark Tank, Dateline NBC, and other series among the top shows on network television.

It should be noted that this is the overnight number and the actual rating won’t be released until next week.
