WWE had to scrap plans for Johnny Knoxville on Friday’s SmackDown

Johnny Knoxville has made a few appearances on WWE TV leading up to this year’s Royal Rumble event as he is slated to work the Men’s Royal Rumble match, which is due to a deal made between the movie studio and WWE to promote the “Jackass Forever” movie that comes out in theaters on February 4th.

Pwinsider.com reports at one point, WWE had plans for Knoxville to appear on Friday’s SmackDown. However, it was nixed due to weather concerns and he was brought directly to St. Louis for the Royal Rumble. As he had teased earlier in the week, several cast members are with him for the Rumble appearance.

It was said that he endeared himself to WWE talent and staff with his willingness to do anything that was asked of him during his segments. It was said Knoxville had even volunteered to make more appearances than planned if it was deemed necessary and was said to be beyond respectful to everyone involved in the process.

Knoxville was said to not have separated himself from everyone backstage as some other celebrities have done, but rather, enjoyed being around people. One source stated that they hoped Knoxville ended up back working with the company again because it was “completely drama-free and fun.”

Regarding the video of Brock Lesnar slamming Wee-Man on a table at a restaurant, it was said to be done as something that just happened and not designed to promote the film, although various media outlets picked up the video so they did get some publicity.
