WWE Hall of Famer Reveals What Saved The Godfather’s Life in Horrific Crash

WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi has provided a direct update on his close friend, Charles Wright (The Godfather), following a serious truck crash last weekend. On his “Rikishi Fatu Off The Top” podcast, Rikishi confirmed he spoke with The Godfather, who is thankfully okay after his truck rolled over three times.

“I talked to him. You know, as soon as I seen that post on social media… Godfather was close friends with the family, BSK, and so I gave him a holler,” Rikishi said. “He picked up right off the bat… it was great just to hear that he was okay.”

Rikishi then shared the details of what caused the accident, as told to him by The Godfather himself. “From my understanding of the story, what he said was, you know, he was riding up in Wisconsin someplace… he was in the Dodge truck, and the guy, both of them, there was no drinking, no nothing, but it was just one of those rainy days, right?” Rikishi recounted. “And he said they hit a puddle. When they hit a puddle, the truck slid, and it went up the bank. When it went up the bank, it turned around, and then it flipped three times over.”

He then revealed what he was told was the key factor in both he and his passenger surviving the terrifying ordeal without serious injury.

“As it was flipping, he says that, you know, the airbags came out from the front of the dashboards. And I guess with the Dodge trucks, they have the side airbags that’s in the doors,” Rikishi explained. “And he says that’s what saved their lives.”

Rikishi expressed his immense relief upon hearing his friend of over 30 years was safe. “So much death going on. Man… When it happens to some of the boys that are out there that that’s a real, true friend to yourself and the family, you know, you just kind of get that… feeling like, ‘Man, I hope that, I hope he’s okay.’… He’s good. God is great.”
