WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley has dropped nearly 100 pounds, igniting rumors of a potential return at the 2025 Royal Rumble. Foley, who once tipped the scales at 377 pounds, documented his weight loss journey on his YouTube channel, revealing a current weight of 279.9 pounds. He attributes his transformation to a combination of healthier eating, consistent workouts, and the weight-loss drug Wegovy. This renewed focus on his health comes after years of the physical toll professional wrestling has taken on his body.
“I did it the old-fashioned way. It was really a three-step process: healthier eating, working out, and, I’ll admit, I cheated a bit,” Foley said, referencing the medication. He elaborated on the challenges that led him to seek medical assistance: “A doctor suggested Wegovy after seeing me at over 370 pounds. I know some people see it as cheating, but I felt like it leveled the playing field. My strength was gone, my metabolism had tanked.”
Foley continued, “I thought, ‘I’m a heart attack waiting to happen.’” Foley also highlighted his use of DDP Yoga and swimming as key components of his fitness routine. “I’m not 21 anymore,” he acknowledged, “But I feel good—really good.”
The 58-year-old legend, who famously wrestled under personas like Mankind, Cactus Jack, and Dude Love, has endured a career’s worth of injuries. He’s perhaps best known for the infamous 1998 Hell in a Cell match against The Undertaker, where he was thrown off the 20-foot-high cell and later chokeslammed through the roof of the structure, resulting in a dislocated shoulder, a concussion, internal bleeding, and a tooth knocked out, lodged in his nostril. Foley has also dealt with numerous concussions throughout his career, along with a dislocated jaw, broken ribs, and knee injuries that have required multiple surgeries. He’s also been open in recent years about experiencing memory issues, something that’s been attributed to the many head injuries he sustained.
Foley recently participated in Ohio Valley Wrestling’s (OVW) Nightmare Rumble. This appearance, coupled with his dramatic weight loss, has fueled speculation about a possible WWE appearance. When asked directly about entering the Royal Rumble, Foley offered this response: “I wouldn’t say I’m not entering the Royal Rumble,” he said with a laugh.
A staged phone call with someone who was implied to be WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque further stoked the speculation. During the playful exchange, Foley hinted at a comeback, saying, “You saw me in the Nightmare Rumble? I’ve lost some weight, yeah. I’ve been working out. Royal Rumble? Let me call you right back.” The clip concluded with Triple H’s iconic theme music playing. While not confirmed, Foley’s significant weight loss, renewed fitness, and playful hints have fans buzzing about the possibility of the hardcore legend making a surprise appearance at one of WWE’s biggest annual events, despite the physical hardships he’s faced throughout his storied career.
