One of the big stories heading into the NXT TakeOver: WarGames show on Saturday night revolves around the mystery man who has yet to be announced for the men’s WarGames match.
WWE is keeping the person’s identity a secret but the word going around that fans will be very happy and there will be a huge pop when this person is revealed.
For what it’s worth, WWE did not want word to get out that John Morrison signed a deal and they do have plans for him. He signed a multi-year deal with the company in September. One rumor making the rounds among the wrestlers is that Morrison is scheduled to make his debut this weekend in Chicago.
I don’t know if that necessarily means WarGames or the Survivor Series pay-per-view but I’m told that new signees with prior WWE experience are not as likely to go straight to Raw or SmackDown like years prior. Now that NXT is considered a third brand and no longer a developmental brand, the idea is to bring in some recognizable faces to help boost the ratings. Morrison is a former WWE Intercontinental Champion with name value who can help boost the NXT brand.
4 matches have been announced for tomorrow’s NXT TakeOver: War Games show. Here is the card:
