Months ago, when word first got out about Bobby Lashley agreeing to a deal for his WWE return, there was talk that we could see a Lashley vs. Brock Lesnar match that many fans would consider a dream match.
At this point, Lesnar is on a short-term contract and it’s not known how many matches are left on it but his deal does not extend into the summer, which means that he will not be at SummerSlam unless a new deal is reached.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter was recently asked by someone on Twitter about the possibility of a Lesnar vs. Lashley match at SummerSlam since Vince McMahon seems to love matches that have a big fight feel to them.
Meltzer noted that Lashley was under the impression that the match was on the table when he negotiated his deal but Lesnar has yet to sign a deal for that show.

So, at this moment, the match is not in WWE’s plans but things can change if Lesnar decides to stick around a little bit longer. At this point, the belief is that Lesnar will drop the Universal title within the next couple of months before he starts training for his UFC return.
