This year’s WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view event will take place on Saturday, August 21st from Las Vegas, at Allegiant Stadium, the home of the Las Vegas Raiders.
It’s been previously reported that WWE hopes to have John Cena challenge Universal Champion Roman Reigns for the title at this show as well as WWE wanting to make this year’s SummerSlam just like a WrestleMania.
Stephanie McMahon appeared on Yahoo Finance to discuss a wide range of topics including SummerSlam.
When asked about ticket sales, she said that “ticket sales are looking great” and they’ve seen “excellent results thus far.” It should be noted that pre-sale tickets were put on sale earlier this week before tickets are made available for the public on Friday.
McMahon was then asked when she would wrestle again. Her last match was when she teamed up with Triple H for a mixed tag team match against Kurt Angle and Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania 34. At the end of her answer, she promised surprises at SummerSlam.
“Ever since Ronda Rousey broke my arm, I have a little PTSD. I’m not sure you’re going to see me in the ring anytime soon, but I guarantee for SummerSlam, there is going to be a lot of surprises.”
“The live event is where our event really comes to life,” WWE Chief Brand Officer @StephMcMahon says. “When you think about WWE superstars, they are akin to superheroes, except they’re real, genuine, authentic, you can come see them in person.” pic.twitter.com/OwMOKyjzI4
