As noted over the weekend, it looks likely that Daniel Bryan will challenge Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship in the near future.
Dave Meltzer noted on F4WOnline.com that Bryan vs. Reigns is planned and it could happen at the TLC pay-per-view but it’s leaning towards a later date.
During WWE Talking Smack on Saturday, Bryan made a reference to Roman Reigns without actually saying his name. Bryan said, “What I once thought might be a Paul issue might be somebody else entirely. But that’s not what I’m here to talk about. Last night on SmackDown, I beat Jey Uso with a small package.”
The story that will be told on Friday is that Bryan was not happy with a small package win over Jey Uso and he wants another match so he can get a definitive victory as payback for what Uso did to him a few weeks ago. That rematch could happen on an episode of SmackDown or they can do it at TLC if they want to hold off the Bryan vs. Reigns match.
If Uso vs. Bryan happens on December 20 at the TLC pay-per-view, then that could mean that Bryan vs. Reigns won’t happen until the Royal Rumble.
