WWE has already taped a big match that’s said to be unbelievable

The finals of the vacant WWE Intercontinental Title Tournament have been made official. In fact, WWE has already confirmed when the finals will take place, which is the June 12th episode of Friday Night SmackDown.

WWE did an interesting storyline angle on Friday’s episode of SmackDown when the show opened with Jeff Hardy apparently hitting Elias with his car while intoxicated. Hardy was “arrested,” which led to him being pulled from the semi-finals of the tournament.

This episode was supposed to see Hardy vs. Daniel Bryan and Elias vs. AJ Styles. However, due to the storyline, Styles automatically advanced while Bryan took on Sheamus in the main event with Bryan going over.

Now, the finals will feature Bryan taking on Styles to determine a new Intercontinental Champion after WWE had stripped Sami Zayn due to inactivity.

Sean Ross Sapp reported on Fightful Select that despite the finals not airing for a few weeks, WWE did tape the finals back on May 26th during the SmackDown TV tapings at the Performance Center.

Sapp noted, “We’re told that the match was “unbelievable” and legitimately pumped up a very tired NXT PC crowd that was there to cheer.”
