During the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez previewed tonight’s episode of WWE NXT that will feature Roxanne Perez challenging NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose.
Meltzer talked about plans to eventually crown Nikkita Lyons as the champion of the brand. Meltzer also put over Perez as someone who should hold the title at some point.
“Roxanne Perez should be the person,” Meltzer said. “She’s young, she’s very good, she’s very charismatic. She’d be a good one to win that championship.” Meltzer added, “I know that there was talk of Nikkita Lyons winning but not for a long time, not right now.”
Behind the scenes, Lyons has received a ton of praise because the feeling is that she has been improving her in-ring work and she is very marketable. Per Meltzer, it looks like it’s only a matter of time until she wins the NXT Women’s Title.
