WWE has concussion related lawsuit from former wrestlers dismissed

WWE received news on Wednesday that a federal appeals court has dismissed a long-standing lawsuit against them that was filed by former wrestlers.

The lawsuit alleged that WWE knew the risks of head injuries but didn’t warn them. It was reported by the Associated Press that the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New York City agreed to throw out the lawsuit. The initial lawsuit was also thrown out years ago by a federal judge in Connecticut.

Per the report, it was determined that the claims made by the former WWE wrestlers were frivolous or filed after the statute of limitations had expired.

It was stated that the ruling noted how it was determined that there was no evidence WWE knew that concussions or head blows that caused CTE during matches.

There were other similar lawsuits filed by former wrestlers against the WWE over the same topic, but those have been dismissed as well because they were filed too late.

Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka, Joseph “Road Warrior Animal” Laurinaitis, Paul “Mr. Wonderful” Orndorff, Chris “King Kong Bundy” Pallies and Harry Masayoshi Fujiwara, known as Mr. Fuji were some of the wrestlers listed in the lawsuit.

“In its conclusory assertions the injured wrestlers find no justice having been literally denied a day in court,” Kyros wrote in an email to The Associated Press. “Per this mandate wrestlers have no rights, no rights to bring a lawsuit, no rights to help from WWE for CTE & head injuries, no rights as misclassified employees, no rights to a jury, and ironically no right to even appeal!”
