WWE has discussed a tag team match involving The Rock and Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 38

It’s been widely reported that WWE wants to do a match between The Rock and Roman Reigns at an upcoming WrestleMania event.

The bout didn’t take place at WrestleMania 37 this year because Vince McMahon didn’t feel the event would be the time for the match to happen due to the limited crowd allowed to attend because of the pandemic.

Thus, WrestleMania 38 next year in Dallas, Texas or WrestleMania 39 in Los Angeles, California are possible dates for the bout to happen.

Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE has discussed doing a tag team match for the feud between The Rock and Reigns.

Jimmy Uso is still part of the top storyline on SmackDown with his brother, Jey, and Reigns despite being arrested for an alleged DUI. Jimmy’s current storyline is a major part of plans for WrestleMania 38 in 2022.  Per the report, an idea is being considered of having The Rock team with one of The Usos to take on Reigns and the other Uso brother.

The goal is still to do a match involving The Rock and Reigns, but if concessions have to be made due to Rock’s Hollywood career then the tag match can protect the former WWE Champion from doing a full match and potentially getting injured.

The tag team match is considered a way to keep the feud “all in the family” and decide who really is The Tribal Chief.

After his rematch with John Cena at WrestleMania 29, The Rock had to undergo surgery, which resulted in filming his Hercules movie being delayed.
