WWE Has Discussed Introducing Two New Championships

More titles could be coming to WWE for its women’s division.

WWE introduced a women’s midcard title last month at Battleground, which saw Kelani Jordan become the inaugural NXT Women’s North American Champion in a six-way ladder match. She successfully defended the belt against Sol Ruca at Sunday’s Heatwave PLE.

It was first reported by hashtagPWN that the Women’s Intercontinental and United States Championships were in the works for the main roster. Fightful Select later reported that the idea was being discussed, although the images that were being floated around social media were simply AI art and not the actual designs.

Dave Meltzer also confirmed the news while speaking on the most recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio.

Meltzer stated, “I know it was reported earlier today because somebody texted me and just goes, ‘It’s being reported out there that they are going to create Women’s US and Intercontinental Titles.’ I asked, and I was basically told that that is, in fact, what is being talked about….Two more championships, one on each brand.”
