WWE likes to make minor changes to its stars occasionally, whether that is a new gimmick, catchphrase, name, or nickname. It can also happen when talent is moved from NXT to the main roster, which is again displayed with two stars.
Journey
Los Lotharios (Angel Garza & Humberto Carrillo) hadn’t done much in 2023 before going to NXT. Angel and Humberto started teaming together on Raw in September 2021.
As part of the 2021 Draft, they were drafted to the SmackDown brand before the team was named Los Lotharios. Before their return to NXT, they had only worked three main roster matches in 2023.
The change
The tag team had been doing vignettes using their grandfather with the idea that he was a big superstar. Things changed when they aligned with Santos Escobar on the main roster last month on SmackDown, where they joined him in the fight against the LWO.
As seen below, WWE.com shows that the two stars are now called Angel and Humberto. They previously had their last names dropped before WWE added them back.
