WWE has nothing definitive planned for TLC PPV

WWE is gearing up to close out this year with its TLC pay-per-view event.

Dave Meltzer first reported that the scheduled main event of this show is WWE Champion Drew McIntyre vs. Braun Strowman. It’s possible WWE books Universal Champion Roman Reigns against Daniel Bryan at this show although WWE could hold off on booking it at a later date, perhaps the Royal Rumble.

Fast forward to Monday’s episode of Raw, WWE did a tournament that will lead to a Triple Threat No. 1 Contender’s match on next week’s episode of Raw. However, Strowman didn’t qualify for the contest, which made some people question this report.

It turns out that WWE has yet to make any definitive plans on the match card. However, as it stands right now, the belief is WWE will do an angle on next Monday’s episode of Raw to get Strowman booked in the upcoming title match.

“I wish I could tell you more. I know as of the afternoon, one of the things I heard there’s nothing definitive about TLC. You would think, they would have a whole card and now we’re going to start building the card. I was told they have no card except for Drew McIntyre vs. Braun Strowman, that’s the only thing.

Even Roman Reigns vs. Daniel Bryan was scheduled as of this afternoon. It could be on TLC, but it’s not necessarily on TLC it could also be on Royal Rumble. It’s kind of up to decisions that have yet to be made.”

Meltzer later noted that when he was watching the show he questioned why WWE would do a tournament on Monday’s show only to throw it out next week and Strowman will be declared as the #1 contender.

Meltzer pitched some ideas as to how Strowman gets to the title match because he was on the winning men’s Raw team at Survivor Series and he’s a heel so he could beat the winner of the tournament or pop up next week claiming it was unfair that he was left out of the tournament.

“I could certainly see how they do it, but I couldn’t tell you for sure that’s the case. I mean it is WWE, they could have changed plans already, I don’t think that’s the case.”

Meltzer noted that’s all he knows right now.
