WWE has announced that they have released Luke Harper from his contract.

This news comes on the heels of Sin Cara being released from his contract. WWE issued the following statement on Harper and Sin Cara's release: "WWE has come to terms on the releases of Jonathan Huber (Luke Harper) and Sin Cara. WWE wishes them all the best in their future endeavors."

Harper had wanted out for months and his contract was due to expire in November but the company opted to add time because of time he missed due to an injury. Clearly, WWE's thought process changed and the decision was made today to let him go.

Harper is believed to be heading to All Elite Wrestling. He has friends who work there and many people in WWE have privately talked about how good he can be if he's allowed to show what he can really do in the ring. On his podcast, Arn Anderson named Harper as one of the most underrated guys in WWE.

Presumably, he has a 90-day non-compete so he would not be able to show up on another wrestling show until March.
