WWE has released The Revival

The WWE has finally agreed to release The Revival (Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder).

On Friday, WWE issued a statement that officially announced the former WWE Tag Team Champions are no longer under contract with the company. This comes after the tag team had requested their releases.

WWE’s statement read like, “Effective today, Friday April 10, 2020, WWE and The Revival have agreed on their immediate release from WWE. We wish them all the best in their future endeavors.”

The belief is that they will be headed to AEW now that they’re no longer under contract with WWE.

They have trademarked “Top Guys,” which is a name that they have referred to themselves in the past. They have also trademarked “Say Yeah” and “No Flips, Just Fists.”

As recent as February, it was reported that the company had been trying to re-sign them to big-money deals that would likely have kept them under contract for the next five years.

The original reports suggested prior to the news of their release was that Dawson’s deal was supposed to expire in April. On the flip side, Wilder was going to have to wait until June before he would’ve been allowed out of his deal. The reason for that was due to WWE adding time to his deal due to the time he missed while injured.
