There has been a lot of concern for Jeff Hardy but it looks like he is working hard to get his life back in order.
During a recent PWInsider audio show, Mike Johnson was asked about Hardy and why he still works for the company, considering he’s had several legal issues since he returned a couple of years ago.
Johnson noted that Hardy’s deal is frozen because of his knee injury, which means that his deal will not expire in a couple of months like his brother Matt.
Hardy is also dealing with legal issues related to his DUI arrest in October. Johnson noted that “WWE strongly implored Jeff to address his health and we’re told that Jeff is doing that and really aggressively dove right into it.”
Basically, it’s tough to fire someone when he is actively working to battle his substance abuse issues. Hardy had a court date earlier today. There is no word yet on how things went for him in court.
Another reason why WWE may be hesitant to let Hardy go is another company like All Elite Wrestling might be interested in him, especially if he proves that he’s been able to clean himself up. Impact Wrestling could also be interested, especially since they are trying to generate a buzz for their weekly show on AXS TV.
Hopefully, everything turns out okay for Jeff. As I’ve said before, he is one of the most well-liked guys in the wrestling business and everyone is pulling for him to get his life back on track.
