WWE To Hold Performance Center Tryouts Next Week

WWE is set to open its doors to prospective talent once again, as Bryan Alvarez reports that the company will hold its next tryout session next week in Orlando, Florida. This marks the first known tryout camp the company has conducted since the sessions held during SummerSlam weekend in New Jersey last summer.

The SummerSlam tryouts were notable for several reasons, including a historic first for the recruitment process. The specific “WWE Recruit” Instagram page named independent wrestler Rayne Leverkusen as the MVP of the camp, marking the first time WWE has publicly bestowed an MVP distinction upon a tryout participant. Other names who attended that session included “Big Trouble” Ben Bishop, Goldenboy Santos, Omari, CBL, and influencer Meghan Walker.

Perhaps the most discussed name from the SummerSlam group was Zoe Hines. Hines is the niece of actress Cheryl Hines, who is married to United States Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

In addition to the recruitment news, WWE is embarking on a European tour starting on January 8. The tour will feature a television taping this Friday for SmackDown in Berlin, Germany. The show will be headlined by a match, where Cody Rhodes will defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against Drew McIntyre in a Three Stages of Hell match.

Following the stop in Berlin, the tour continues with next week’s Raw taking place in Dusseldorf, Germany. A match between AJ Styles and Gunther has been made official for that show. The bout was booked on Monday after Styles, having heard enough of Gunther’s disrespect following the Ring General’s victory over John Cena last month, slapped Gunther in the face.
