FOX had a meeting on Tuesday to discuss their fall schedule and one of the things talked about in the meeting was about their plans for WWE. The news about this meeting was first reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
One big thing to come out of the meeting is that there are talks going on between WWE and people at FOX Sports about getting NXT on regular television. FOX seems like the unlikely destination for the show but Fox Sports 1 would be the ideal network and if a deal can be worked out then the show would go head-to-head with All Elite Wrestling’s Wednesday Night Dynamite show on TNT.
This would obviously be a blow to AEW because a weekly NXT show can siphon away some viewers. No word on if the format would change for the weekly NXT show but it would not surprise me if the show ended up being live every week and 2 hours since AEW will run from 8-10 pm eastern.
During the AEW Fight For The Fallen post-show media scrum, Tony Khan discussed plans for the company and noted that there are big things planned for the first show on TNT.
