WWE is getting partial blame for positive COVID-19 tests in AEW

There have been several outbreaks of WWE talent testing positive for COVID-19 over the last few months. There was an outbreak in AEW last month, which made AEW officials update their prevention strategy.

This comes at a time where both companies are doing COVID-19 testing but in different ways.

During today’s edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer mentioned how AEW has put some blame on the recent outbreak of positive tests because their wrestlers socializing with WWE wrestlers. Meltzer did point out that Lance Archer tested positive for the coronavirus, but he didn’t get it from someone in WWE.

“The feeling is still that the bubble environment is the only way to do this safely. AEW has had one outbreak, which they blame on wrestlers socializing and things like that with WWE talent because it started there.

However it happened, Lance Archer obviously didn’t get it from WWE talent. It’s more than that, there are too many ways to get it…it’s just going to be a really tense time with everything.”

News broke on Wednesday that with Florida Governor signing off phase 3 of re-opening the state, sporting events are allowed to have full capacity.

Pro wrestling is under that umbrella and technically, AEW and WWE could have thousands of fans attend their shows if they decided to do so.
