WWE is pulling out all the stops to make their upcoming Saturday Night’s Main Event special a blast from the past. Per PWInsider, the 12/14 show will feature a retro presentation style reminiscent of the original 80s broadcasts, complete with classic graphics, theme music, and an overall old-school vibe.
Naturally, this has fueled speculation about whether some other familiar faces from that era might make appearances. So far, the only confirmed name is “The Mouth of the South” himself, Jimmy Hart. Jesse “The Body” Ventura’s name has also been rumored but not confirmed by WWE.
Hart, who managed a who’s who of wrestling superstars like Hulk Hogan, Greg Valentine, and The Honky Tonk Man, was a fixture on the original Saturday Night’s Main Event broadcasts. His trademark megaphone and flamboyant style made him one of the most recognizable figures of the era.
WWE has announced that Cody Rhodes will defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against Kevin Owens on the show.
