WWE is bringing back Starrcade with some familiar names

The Greensboro Coliseum in North Carolina has announced that WWE is resurrecting the Starrcade name for a live event on 11/25. It’s not clear if this will be a regular house show or if this will be filmed for a WWE Network special.

Starrcade was a Thanksgiving week tradition in the 1980’s.

Here is the announced card:

WWE Championship – Steel Cage Match
Jinder Mahal (Champion) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

Smackdown Women’s Championship – Steel Cage Match
Natalya (Champion) vs. Charlotte Flair

United States Championship – Triple Threat Match
AJ Styles (Champion) vs. Baron Corbin vs. Rusev

Smackdown Tag Team Championship – Texas Tornado Tag Match
The New Day (Champions) vs. The Usos

Grudge Match
Sami Zayn vs. Kevin Owens

Bobby Roode vs. Dolph Ziggler

Plus: The Hardy Boyz, Rock ‘n’ Roll Express, Ricky Steamboat and many more are advertised to appear.

They are clearly doing everything they can to cater to the market by bringing in familiar faces. I think it’s a great idea to help boost ticket sales. Hopefully, this becomes a network special.
