WWE is ending 205 Live, new NXT: Level Up series to begin

PWInsider is reporting that WWE is ending 205 Live. It was first reported a few weeks ago by Dave Meltzer that there was talk of ending the brand and it appears to be happening now. PWI noted that the decision to end the show happened earlier this week but had been in the works for some time. The writing was on the wall for that show when they began including wrestlers that were over the 205 pound mark.

In place of 205 Live, WWE will tape NXT: Level Up prior to their regular NXT 2.0 show. That will be 60-minute show. The first taping will happen before tonight’s Vengeance Day broadcast.

The end of 205 Live marks the end of another Triple H concept. A couple of years ago, there were plans for 205 Live to become a touring brand but that idea never planned out beyond just a few shows in the northeast.

WWE recently filed for the “NXT: Level Up” trademark.
