We are less than two months away from the return of fans to WWE shows. The Hell in a Cell pay-per-view in June will be the last pay-per-view event held inside the ThunderDome and it’s expected that fans will be in attendance at the Money In The Bank show in July. There’s no word yet on the city or venue that will host the MITB show.
Bryan Alvarez noted on Wrestling Observer Live that the plan is to have fans back before the Money In The Bank show.
Alvarez said, “I don’t know all of the details but it has been suggested to me that in fact, that is not going to be the first show back with WWE fans. I don’t know if it’s gonna start with a Raw, I don’t know if it’s gonna start with a SmackDown. I don’t know what it’s gonna be but prior to that, fans are going to be returning to WWE shows, WWE live events. It looks like July is going to be the changeover where the ThunderDome and empty arenas [will be] all history and we’ll be back to having fans in the buildings.”
Alvarez also noted that there are plans to make some changes to the aesthetics of the show when fans return.
“By the way, WWE apparently when they are returning [they are getting] a whole new look. They got plans. When they return to non-ThunderDome buildings, it’s gonna be a whole new look. I don’t know what that means. It’s probably the entryway and everything like that.”
There’s no word yet on venues and cities for future episodes of Raw and SmackDown. As previously noted, WWE is considering Madison Square Garden to host SummerSlam in August.
