WWE Is Interested In A Top Free Agent

WWE has reportedly set its sights on top free agent Jeff Cobb.

Cobb’s recent comments have fueled speculation about his future. Following a loss last month, he questioned his direction, stating, ‘Maybe it’s time to take my bags and go somewhere else.’ This came after a string of losses, something unthinkable from his previous undefeated G1 run.

According to Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp, multiple sources indicate WWE has been closely monitoring Cobb, who has been competing in New Japan Pro Wrestling. One source claimed Cobb’s name appeared on WWE’s internal roster this week, though this has not been confirmed by Fightful.

Sources within AEW have stated that Cobb is not expected to join their promotion. With Cobb’s NJPW contract status unclear, WWE’s interest could lead to a significant acquisition.
