The Field of Dreams game between the New York Yankees and the Chicago White Sox drew the best rating for a regular season game in 16 years with 5.9 million viewers.
It was clear the unique location was a major success and now WWE is looking for ideas to do the same thing.
WrestleVotes is reporting that WWE has begun initial discussions about doing offsite events in 2022 and some of those ideas include doing Raw on a roof. Presumably, doing Raw on top of WWE Headquarters is being considered. There is also talk of doing Raw at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City (the site of ECW One Night Stand) and more direct festival shows (ie. Rolling Loud).
As previously noted, there is pressure to get ratings back up now that they are back on the road. Another thing that WWE has been looking as doing is more themed shows such as Raw Roulette and the King (and Queen) of the Ring tournament.
With the success MLB had w/ the Field of Dreams game last week, WWE has begun very initial discussions about doing a few “offsite events” in 2022. Some ideas discussed within creative include: RAW on the Roof, Hammerstein Ballroom & more direct festival shows a la Rolling Loud.
