WWE Is Making Another Change To Its Broadcast Team

Joe Tessitore has been hired by WWE, marking the latest shakeup to its broadcast team.

The New York Post reports ESPN announcer Joe Tessitore will begin calling WWE later this summer. WWE is expected to announce the news later today.

The move will see him stay at ESPN, where he is a broadcaster for college football and Top Rank boxing. He has previously called the NFL’s Monday Night Football and College Football Playoff games.

It has yet to be confirmed whether he will call Raw or SmackDown, although the report said that Tessitore will lead a three-man booth featuring color commentators Corey Graves and Wade Barrett. Meanwhile, on Raw. Michael Cole and Pat McAfee will stay together once the ESPN announcer joins the company. This would strongly indicate Tessitore is going to SmackDown.

Graves has been the play-by-play man for SmackDown commentary since January after WWE fired Kevin Patrick.

Tessitore was WWE president Nick Khan’s first media client when he was a super-agent and is said to have a great relationship with Triple H.
