WWE Is Planning Name Change For Mariah May

WWE is reportedly considering a name change for new NXT signee Mariah May, according to a report from TCwrestlevotes of WrestleVotes. This comes shortly after “The Glamour” made her debut on the NXT brand this week after departing AEW.

While the specifics of a potential new name were not revealed, the report simply states that WWE “is reportedly planning on changing Mariah May’s name.” This is a common practice in WWE, even for talents who arrive with established names from other promotions or the independent circuit.

The reason for that is so WWE can own the trademark rights to their new name while with the company. May has used her current name for years. When Ricky Starks joined WWE from AEW, his name was switched to Ricky Saints.
