WWE Is Preventing Christian Cage From Trademarking “Captain Charisma”

Christian Cage is looking to secure the trademark rights to his old nickname. This comes as he has continued to reinvent himself in AEW since returning to the ring a few years ago.

In 2021, Cage made his promotional debut at the Revolution pay-per-view event, where he signed his multi-year deal with AEW. Since then, he has been a multiple TNT Champion and consistently used on television.

Shortly after his AEW arrival, he filed for trademark rights to the Christain Cage name since he can’t use Christian because WWE owns the trademark rights to it. He has ownership of it for entertainment and clothing purposes.

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported Cage filed for the rights to “Captain Charisma” with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

However, WWE opposed him. It’s unclear whether Cage plans to file an appeal.
