In an update from the previous story about Daniel Bryan’s deal expiring, Dave Meltzer noted on the Wrestling Observer website that Bryan’s deal expired on Friday but WWE is pushing hard for him to sign a new deal.
Again, the fact that his deal expired does not mean that he will be signing with another company. Given that he’s a major name that would be available to companies like All Elite Wrestling and New Japan Pro Wrestling, one would have to assume that WWE is going to offer him a lot more money and they would be more willing to come to an agreement on reducing his schedule since he is banged up and wants to spend more time with his family.
As noted earlier, Bryan lost to Universal Champion Roman Reigns on SmackDown on Friday night and then was written out of storylines when Reigns attacked him with a chair. He is now “banished” from SmackDown but if he signs a new contract then the door is open to return on NXT or Raw.
