The Undertaker may have at least one more match left in him.
The documentary that has been airing on the WWE Network seems to hint that a retirement announcement is coming soon. However, in recent weeks, AJ Styles has expressed that he has not gotten over the fact that he was buried by Taker in the Boneyard Match.
A couple of weeks ago on Monday Night Raw, Styles was seen backstage watching a clip from the first chapter of the documentary and he was frustrated at Taker.
This week, it was announced that Styles was traded to Friday Night SmackDown. After his victory over Shinsuke Nakamura, Styles was interviewed by Kayla Braxton for WWE.com and he had some words for The Deadman.
“I’ve gotta redeem myself,” Styles said. “No one gets buried alive and comes back like AJ Styles. I hope The Undertaker hears every word I’m saying.”
He added, “That’s all I’ve been thinking about…its all anyone has talked about…”
There is still no confirmation on if/when Taker will wrestle again but the fact that Styles is mentioning him in promos seems to suggest that a rematch is on the horizon. I have noted before that there are plans to do something in November to commemorate Taker’s 30th anniversary with the company so if Taker wants a rematch with Styles to be his last match then Survivor Series wouldn’t be such a bad idea since that is the event where he made his WWE TV debut.
