Tanga Loa returned to WWE at the WWE Backlash France premium live event on Saturday from LDLC Arena in Lyon-Decines in the opening match.
The Bloodline’s Solo Sikoa & Tama Tonga vs. Kevin Owens & Randy Orton took place with Loa showing up when Owens set up four chairs in the ring and hit a brainbuster off the top rope to Tonga for two as Tanga Loa came out to pull out the referee. Solo followed up with the samoan spike for the win.
Loa previously worked for WWE from 2009-2014 under the Camacho name where he was mostly used as a lower tier star. He had a run with Hunico as a tag team.
While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that Tama and Tanga signed up with WWE simultaneously, but they have kept Tanga off television until now.
“Real quick, Tanga Loa’s deal and Tama Tonga’s were actually together, it’s just that…the Tanga Loa thing it didn’t get out because New Japan never announced it (his contract was coming due), they never gave him a farewell. WWE obviously never announces anything like this, but this is not like something from the last two weeks, this deal was decided on months ago.”
