WWE Legend Goldberg Responds To Accusations Of Being Unsafe

WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg has once again expressed remorse for the infamous kick at WCW Starrcade 1999 that led to Bret “The Hitman” Hart suffering a career-ending concussion. The incident has been a point of contention for over two decades, with Hart often calling Goldberg an unsafe worker.

Speaking with Dan Sileo of JAKIB Sports, Goldberg maintained that the kick was an accident and something he has regretted ever since.

“I kicked Bret Hart in the head on accident a hundred years ago and I’ve been remorseful ever since. And I’ve said I was sorry. I was young in the business, no question, and people make mistakes.”

Goldberg pushed back on the idea that he would ever intentionally hurt someone, noting the respect he had for the veterans who helped him when he was new to the business.

“People have to understand that I was extremely lucky to break into the business when I did…There were guys that were unbelievable sources of information, the coaches, and the people who took the time to help me out. I never would take advantage of anybody. Do you think I’m gonna cheapshot people?”

Goldberg is set to have his final retirement match against GUNTHER at Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 12.
