WWE makes a change to the Smackdown Live announce team

WWE has made a change to the Smackdown Live announce team but that doesn't mean that someone is being replaced. They have announced that Smackdown Live will now consist of a four-man booth every Tuesday night. Tom Phillips will join Mauro Ranallo, David Otunga and JBL.

It's an interesting move because, as far as I can remember, WWE has never had a four-man booth on weekly WWE programming before. Vince McMahon could be testing the waters to see if Phillips is able to become a lead announcer. Phillips has been with the company since 2012 as part of NXT.

Phillips will also remain in his role as NXT announcer so he will be pulling double duty.
