WWE makes a change to tonight’s NXT show

A change has been made to tonight’s NXT line-up on the USA Network.

It was originally announced that Damian Priest would be taking on Killian Dain. However, on today’s episode of WWE’s The Bump, it was announced that the match will not be happening and the claim was that Priest is still recovering from a rib injury suffered at NXT TakeOver: WarGames. At the TakeOver show, Priest wrestled in a Triple Threat Match with Pete Dunne and Dain to determine who would go on to face Adam Cole for the NXT Championship at the Survivor Series pay-per-view. Dunne won the Triple Threat Match.

Priest also wrestled at the Survivor Series pay-per-view as part of the NXT team during the men’s traditional elimination match that pitted the NXT team against Raw and SmackDown.

Also announced for tonight’s show: Kushida will wrestle for the first time since October. He has been out of action with a hairline fracture on his wrist, an injury he suffered during his match with WALTER in October.

WWE has also announced Rhea Ripley vs. Dakota Kai for tonight’s show, fresh off of Kai’s heel turn at TakeOver: WarGames. Tonight’s ratings will be interesting since both NXT and AEW Dynamite are not dealing with stiffer than usual competition and there is no Thanksgiving holiday excuse for lower than usual viewership.
