WWE management hopes Roman Reigns can get Dean Ambrose to sign a new deal

Just a few weeks ago it seemed like Dean Ambrose was almost certainly on his way out of WWE and a jump to All Elite Wrestling seemed likely.

It’s still possible he could leave when his deal expires in April but WWE management is hoping Roman Reigns can help change his mind. During a recent autograph signing, Reigns was asked to give his thoughts on Ambrose leaving this year. Reigns responded simply by saying, “we’re gonna work on that.” The impression given was that Reigns would work on getting Ambrose to stay.

It is noteworthy that Ambrose is not being completely buried and it certainly looks like they are building towards a Shield reunion, possibly for the Fastlane pay-per-view. The reason why Ambrose told the company about leaving is that he was not happy with creative and we’re told he was not happy about having to incorporate Reigns’ leukemia into his heel promos.

WWE has undone some of those things by turning Ambrose face again and wrestlers have been told to hang tight because they are working on fixing some of the glaring problems with creative. As noted over the weekend, Bruce Prichard was brought back to the creative team to shake things up so perhaps, these changes will be enough to get Ambrose to stay.

One wrestler told me today that last night, Ambrose was the happiest he’s been in a long time because Reigns was back in the locker room.
