Coming out of WWE Evolution over the weekend, both SmackDown Live Women’s Champion Becky Lynch and Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey retained their titles. Lynch defeated Charlotte Flair in a Last Woman Standing match, while Rousey bested Nikki Bella in one-on-one competition. It was later announced that Lynch vs. Rousey will go down at Survivor Series next month in November.
A small teaser was aired to hype their match, as WWE aired a clip of the two women exchanging words after Evolution. Nothing physical happened between the two, however, WWE published an article on the matter that suggested Lynch was supposed to attack Rousey. Of course, that’s not what happened, leading to the assumption the plans were likely changed. Here’s the original article WWE published:
“However, the Rowdy titleholder’s celebration was short-lived; just moments after she and Becky stood triumphantly side-by-side along with the rest of the female Superstars in the culmination of the monumental event, The Irish Lass Kicker unleashed a vicious assault on her fellow champion backstage”
