WWE might have made a mistake during the Survivor Series kickoff show

As noted, Monday Night Raw dominated SmackDown Live at WWE Survivor Series last night. However, if you watched the pre-show, you might have noticed something interesting. While SmackDown didn’t pick up a victory on the main card, WWE’s Tag Team Elimination match did feature a SmackDown Live win on the kickoff show.

The Usos, The New Day, Sanity, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows, and The Colons defeated Bobby Roode and Chad Gable, The Revival, The B-Team, Lucha House Party, and The Ascension. However, once the main card started, WWE never counted SmackDown’s win on the kickoff show as part of the Raw vs. SmackDown win counter.

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio reports that the rumor backstage is that The Usos won the match due to a miscommunication. Vince McMahon wanted a clean sweep victory for Raw at Survivor Series. Apparently, something was lost in the communication process with the agent of the match, as SmackDown ended up winning. That explains why the kickoff show win for SmackDown wasn’t counted.

Xavier Woods was not happy about WWE ignoring the Kickoff show match. Click here to read what he said.
