WWE Mixed Match Challenge could be in some real trouble

WWE really got people excited for their first-ever venture onto Facebook Watch. But as the weeks have proved the audience might not be there for WWE Mixed Match Challenge like once thought.

In fact, the portion of live viewing audience have dipped considerably and a trend can be easily seen as the numbers keep falling from week to week. The first week gathered 125,600, the second week dropped to 91,900, and the third week fell even more with only 62,400 fans tuning in to watch live on Facebook Watch.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter stated that even before the numbers came in for the third week of programming some key people backstage were already starting to sour on the idea. It was a really cool concept but there could be some problems with its execution. Whatever the issue is people just don’t seem to be coming back for more.

If numbers keep falling like this then the MMC might be WWE’s only attempt at airing such a program for a while.

Then again, those numbers reflect a portion of the viewing audience who are willing to tune in and watch a mixed tag match which has nothing to do with any current WWE story lines. Maybe if WWE started to make MMC something you’d need to watch in order to get more from the story it might have a different result. But whatever WWE tries they might need to do something or Mixed Match Challenge could be headed into obscurity which is never a good place to be in the WWE Universe.
