Welcome to WWE Monday Night RAW. The entire RAW women’s division is in the ring as newly crowned RAW Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss walks down to the ring. Bliss cut a promo about how she is different from everyone else and that she deserves a coronation. She thanks Mickie James and brought up how she looked up to her as she was growing up. She mocked Sasha Banks and brought up pinning her to get where she is at now. She praised Nia Jax as she was doing the cowardly heel gimmick. She stood on a podium then talked about beating Bayley at Payback and seeing Bayley’s nephews crying at ringside. She said that now Bayley’s nephews has someone to look up too. A brawl broke out and we cut to break.
Eight-Woman Tag Team Match: Bayley, Dana Brooke, Sasha Banks and Mickie James vs. Emma, Alexa Bliss, Nia Jax, and Alicia Fox.
Bayley and Emma started things off. Bayley worked over the left arm of Emma. James was tagged in and continued to work over the left arm. James hit a crossbody then tagged in Bayley. Fox was also tagged in. Bayley knocked her down and tagged in James, who hit a drop kick for 2. Banks locked in a headlock but Fox fought out of it. Banks hit a hip toss then a knee drop for 2. They start brawling and we cut to break.
We’re back with the heels working over Banks. Moments later, Banks fought back and got the hot tag to Bayley, who hit a series of strikes to Bliss. Bayley hit a power slam for 2. James took out Jax with a dive and Emma tossed Brooke to the floor. Banks took out Emma. Bayley and Banks brawled with Fox. Bayley and Bliss were left in the ring. Bliss raked the eyes and hit a DDT for the win.
Winners: Emma, Alexa Bliss, Nia Jax, and Alicia Fox.
WWE showed footage of Braun Strowman trying to attack Roman Reigns at WWE Payback. Michael Cole said that we would get a medical update on Reigns and Strowman later tonight.
Enzo Amore and Big Cass cut a promo in the ring about Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows. This led to Gallows and Anderson attacking Amore and Big Cass briefly before Amore and Cass cleared the ring.
Singles Match: Enzo Amore vs. Luke Gallows
Gallows attacked him right off the bat and landed a series of right hands. Gallows hit a power slam and mocked Amore. Moments later, Amore fought out of a suplex and rolled him up for 2. Amore kicked him in the face then went to the top rope where he was distracted by Anderson. Gallows knocked him down and hit his finisher for the win.
Neville and TJ Perkins were shown talking backstage. Perkins brought up how Austin Aries almost beat Neville at Payback. Neville said that it was intentionally DQ in the match. He said that they need to end their problem.
Seth Rollins cut a promo in the ring about how you faces tough times in your life. He said that he had to change but realized that he is still Seth ‘Freaking’ Rollins. He brought up beating Triple H at WrestleMania 33 and got his payback on Samoa Joe last night. He wants the WWE Universal Championship back and Brock Lesnar. Finn Balor walks out instead. Balor said that Rollins is the one legged man while he is the one-armed match who won the Universal Championship. He brought up beating Rollins at SummerSlam and never lost the championship. He said that the line starts here for the championship. Dean Ambrose walks out and said that he would fight anyone. He said that the Intercontinental Championship is the #1 title on RAW and is looking to get into some action. The Miz and Maryse walked out and said that he made the Intercontinental Championship mean something. Balor brought up beating up Miz at Payback. Miz called him a coward and didn’t deserve to be the #1 contender. He said that he defended the Intercontinental Championship every night. He mocked Rollins and said that he beats people up. They all told him to shut up. Ambrose called Kurt Angle and then ended the call Ambrose said that Angle booked a Miz vs. Balor vs. Seth Rollins to crown a #1 contender for the Intercontinental Championship.
WWE showed a recap video package of Strowman vs. Reigns at Payback.
Tag Team Match: Brian Kendrick, Noam Dar, and Tony Nese vs. Akira Tozawa vs. Rich Swann, and Jack Gallagher
Tozawa and Kendrick started things off. Tozawa knocked him down, and Neese got the tag then attacked him from behind. Neese with a series of hip tosses to Tozawa for 2. Swann and Dar were tagged in. Dar locked in a headlock, but Gallagher got the blind tag and hit a clothesline. The babyfaces back dropped Neese to the floor to send us to break.
We’re back with the heels in control of Tozawa. Moments later, Tozawa fought back and got the hot tag to Swann, who hit a series of kicks to Kendrick. Swann with a rolling thunder splash to Kendrick for 2. Swann hit a kick to Dar then blocked Sliced Bread. Gallagher was tagged in and hit a headbutt to Kendrick for 2. Gallagher with a headbutt to Nese. Kendrick locked in the Captain’s Hook to Gallagher, but Tozawa hit a shining wizard to break it up. Gallagher hit a drop kick to Kendrick for the win.
Winner: Akira Tozawa vs. Rich Swann, and Jack Gallagher
Stillshots of Cesaro and Sheamus turning heel and attacking The Hardy Boyz at Payback were shown.
Cesaro and Sheamus walked down to the ring. Sheamus said that he is glad to be free and that he never liked any of the fans. He said that Cesaro kept telling him that the fans would like him until WrestleMania 33 when The Hardy Boyz came in and stole their moment. Cesaro said the fans felt a rush of nostalgia just like everyone else comes back. He said that the fans would rather look in the past rather in the future. Cesaro said that they proved last night that The Hardy Boyz do not belong in the ring with them. He said that The Hardys are novelty acts and that the WWE belongs to them. Cesaro vowed to take back the Tag Team Titles. This led to The Hardy Boyz walking out to the ring. Matt said that they were hurting from last night’s attack and respond to them. They did the delete motion then ran down to the ring. Cesaro and Sheamus got out of the ring and walked to the back.
The Miz cut a backstage promo about how he will prepare for his match tonight. Ambrose walks up and mocks him for his hair. Miz didn’t answer and walked away.
Singles Match: Apollo Crews vs. Heath Slater
They do some mat wrestling early. Crews hit a series of strikes but missed a splash in the corner, and Slater rolled him up for 2. Slater tossed him to the floor. Back in the ring, Crews missed a kick then ducked a kick and connected with one. Crews hit a powerbomb for the win.
Kurt Angle walked down to the ring to open the third hour. He said that Reigns vs. Strowman at Payback would cause consequences. He announced that Reigns re-injured his ribs and internal bleeding while Strowman tore his rotator cuff. He said that they are not done with each other and that they will have answers at a later date… Bray Wyatt interrupted. Wyatt introduced himself to Angle and said that he is here as a savior. He said that Randy Orton will always be trapped in his house of horrors for his action. He said that he is here to write a new chapter on RAW as he is reborn from his own creation. Wyatt told Angle that he needed him and wanted to do know if Angle would allow him to do his work and walk by his side. Angle said that he doesn’t know what he has planned but to remember that this is his show. Wyatt told him to remember that this is his world.
Ambrose interviews Rollins backstage. Rollins didn’t know about any interview. Ambrose thinks WWE will give him his own show on the WWE Network. Rollins brought up beating Ambrose in the past and having his eyes on the Intercontinental Title. Ambrose said that he looks forward to bouncing Rollins over the ring.
Singles Match: Austin Aries vs. TJ Perkins.
They lock up, and Aries hit a series of hip tosses. Aries went to the top rope and hit a dive. Perkins hit a jawbreaker, but Aries caught him with a back elbow and went to the top rope, but Perkins knocked him down.
We’re back with Perkins in control of Aries. Perkins hit a springboard knee strike. Perkins worked over the left knee. Aries made his comeback with series of strikes and then hit an outside dive. Aries locked in the Last Chancery for the win.
Post-match, Perkins attacked Aries’ knee and locked in a kneebar until the referee pulled Perkins off Aries.
Ambrose interviews Balor backstage. Balor said that he is not nervous and produces results. He vowed to take the Intercontinental Title. Ambrose gave him a donut and told him to eat some carbs. Balor took a bite of the donut and handed it back. Balor walked away. Elias Samson walked by playing his guitar.
There was a backstage segment with Goldust, R-Truth and Kurt Angle. They want to challenge The Hardy Boyz for the RAW Tag Team Titles. Angle can’t book the match due to their win-loss record isn’t good enough. They begged him for the match. Angle booked a tag team turmoil match for next week’s RAW to crown a #1 contender for the RAW Tag Team Titles.
#1 Contender’s Triple Threat Match: Finn Balor vs. Seth Rollins vs. The Miz
Miz ducks out to the floor and starts talking trash. Rollins and Balor go after him and hits him with a series of kicks. Rollins rolled up Balor for 2. Balor hit a drop kick to the face of Rollins. Balor caught him with a kick but Miz knocked Balor off the apron. Rollins dropkicked Miz and then went for a dive outside of the ring but Maryse stood in front of him. Balor distracted her and Rollins hit Miz with a dive. Rollins hit a backbreaker to Miz. Rollins went to the top rope and Miz knocked him off.
We’re back with Balor hitting Miz with a series of strikes. Rollins took out Balor with a tackle. Miz rolled up Rollins for 2 then sent Rollins to the ring post. Balor hit Rollins and Miz with a drop kick. Balor landed a series of kicks to both men and sent them to the floor. Balor drop kicked Rollins into the barricade. Balor hit a suplex for 2 as Miz broke it up. Balor sent Miz to the floor and hit the sling blade to Rollins. Miz sent Balor to the floor and Rollins went for a big boot but Miz attacked the right knee then locked in the figure four leglock. Balor broke it up. Rollins hit Balor with a superkick for 2. Rollins hit a double blockbuster off the middle rope. Rollins hit a frog splash to Balor for 2. Miz went to the top rope but Rollins caught him and hit a suplex then a falcon arrow for 2. Rollins hit a dive to Balor then The Miz. Samoa Joe ran out and attacked Rollins. Apparently, this is a NO DQ match. Balor hit sling blade to Miz then a drop kick. Wyatt appeared and attacked Balor. He hit Sister Abigail to Balor. Miz covered Balor for the win.
Winner: Miz – new #1 contender to the Intercontinental Title.
Miz and Maryse celebrated in the ring to close the show.
