WWE Monday Night Raw 6/26/17 results: First-ever women’s Gauntlet Match, Samoa Joe confronts Brock Lesnar

Welcome to WWE Monday Night Raw. Roman Reigns walked out to the ring to open the show, which got heavy boos from the crowd. He said that Samoa Joe finally choked him out last week and that Braun Strowman returned after the match to pick the bones like the coward that he is. He said that he has never competed in this kind of match but he accepts Strowman’s challenge. Reigns vowed to throw Strowman in the ambulance and drive him straight to hell because this is his yard. Sirens played and we see an ambulance being driven into the arena. Reigns walked up to the ambulance and opened the back but no one was there. Strowman then attacked Reigns from behind. They brawled on the stage then Strowman sent Reigns crashing into the side of the ambulance. Strowman tossed Reigns into the back of the ambulance then slammed the door. The ambulance drove away as Strowman walked to the back.

-Commercial Break-

Samson sang a song alongside Cesaro and Sheamus.

Six-Man Tag Team Match: The Hardy Boyz & Finn Balor vs. Cesaro, Sheamus & Elias Samson

Sheamus and Matt started things off by brawling. Jeff was tagged in and hit a splash in the corner. The Hardy Boyz hit a double suplex to Cesaro then Balor took out Samson to send us to break.

-Commercial Break-

We’re back with Balor in control of Cesaro. Balor hit a drop kick for 2. Cesaro backed him into the corner and tagged in Sheamus, who hit a series of clubbing shots. Josh Duhamel was on commentary to promote a WWE Studios film alongside with Sheamus that will be released next year. Sheamus hit a powerslam on Balor for 2. Moments later, Balor fought back and got a hot tag to Jeff, who hit a series of strikes to Sheamus. Sheamus missed a splash and Jeff went to the top rope but Cesaro pulled Sheamus out of the ring. Jeff hit an outside dive to take them out. Back in the ring, Sheamus caught Jeff with a knee strike for 2.

-Commercial Break-

We’re back with Samson in control of Jeff. Sheamus was tagged in and locked in a headlock. Moments later, Jeff fought back and got the hot tag to Matt, who hit a series of strikes to Samson. Matt hit a bulldog then the side effect but Sheamus broke up the pin attempt. Cesaro sent Matt into the ring post and Sheamus got the hot tag. Sheamus and Cesaro hit their tag team finisher but Balor made the save. Matt hit a jawbreaker then tagged in Balor, who landed a series of strikes the heels. Balor with a kick to Samson then to Cesaro. Balor clotheslines Cesaro to the floor as well as Sheamus. Balor hit an outside dive taking them out. Back in the ring, Balor hit the sling blade then the drop kick in the corner and went to the top rope to hit his finisher for the win.

Winners: The Hardy Boyz & Finn Balor

Goldust cut a backstage promo about premiering his latest film, which is basically him hyping his match with R-Truth.

-Commercial Break-

Singles Match: Goldust vs. R-Truth.

There was a cameraman following Goldust’s ever move. The match never started as Goldust beat him down and laid him out.

Paul Heyman was interviewed backstage. He said that Brock Lesnar is here tonight and will be in the ring to call out Samoa Joe for a fight. Joe walked up and teased choking him. Joe said that the Coquina Clutch is not for Heyman but rather Lesnar.

-Commercial Break-

We Kurt Angle with Bayley backstage. Bayley picked her number in the Gauntlet Match. She did not reveal her number.

The Miz and Maryse walked down to the ring for Miz TV. He brought up Lavar Ball predicted that his son, Lonzo, would be drafted by the LA Lakers. He brought out Lavar and Lamelo Ball. They had t-shirts in the ring to showcase them. Lavar introduced Lonzo. Lonzo said that said that he is happy to be a Laker. Miz said that it is an honor to be in the same ring as the Ball family. Miz wanted to be in a partnership with the Ball family but Lavar declined. He said that Miz was a bit too low for them. Miz said that he is a proven champion unlike them. Lavar claimed that he was wrong. Lavar mocked Miz for the way he looked. Lavar said that only two people are better than him and that’s him. Lavar got on the middle rope and acted like he was going to jump. Lavar told Miz to say in his lane. Miz and Lavar both took off their shirts as if they were going to fight. No one needed to see that. Dean Ambrose walked out with a Big Baller Brand t-shirt and said that he has no one has bigger balls than him. His music then hit and we cut to break.

-Commercial Break-

Six-Man Tag Team Match: Dean Ambrose, Heath Slater & Rhyno vs. The Miz, Curtis Axel & Bo Dallas

Ambrose and Axel started things off. Ambrose landed a series of strikes and tagged in Rhyno, who hit a double elbow strike with Slater to Axel. Miz was tagged in and landed a chop to Rhyno, who fired up and landed some chops of his own. Miz sent him into the corner and landed a series of strikes. Dallas was tagged in and put the boots to Rhyno. Axel was tagged in and hit a series of strikes until Ambrose got the hot tag. Ambrose with a series of clotheslines to Axel then a clothesline to Miz. Ambrose clotheslines Axel to the floor then Rhyno and Slater sent Miz to the floor to send us to break.

-Commercial Break-

We’re back with Miz hitting a series of clotheslines to Slater in the corner. Moments later, Slater fought back and got the hot tag to Rhyno, who a series of strikes to Dallas. Dallas caught him with a spine buster for 2. Ambrose brawled with Miz on the floor while Dallas rolled up Rhyno for the win.

Winners: The Miz, Curtis Axel & Bo Dallas

There was a video package recapping the friendship between Big Cass and Enzo Amore as well as Cass’ heel turn from last week. We see Amore walking through the backstage area as he was headed to the ring.

-Commercial Break-

Amore was in the ring. He brought up how he called, texted and DM’d Big Cass all week but no response. He said that he has done some stupid things but he will stay in this ring all night until Big Cass talks to him. Big Cass walked to the ring. Amore said the positive reaction hurts Cass because he knows Cass better than anyone else. Amore said that Cass was right about a lot of things he said about him. Amore said that he has a big mouth but it was okay because Cass could back him up. Amore said that they’re family and last week, Big Cass broke his heart. Amore said that they’re brothers and that is a bond that he refuses to get broken. Amore said that their journey is not over and what happened last week is in the past. Amore said that he say a lot of emotion in Cass’ eyes last week. Amore believes that they can be Tag Team Champions. Big Cass said that Amore never knows when to shut up and that what he did last week made him ashamed. Cass accepts him for who he is and they are brothers. He apologized to Amore for what he said and what he did. He wants Amore to accept his apology, which Amore did. Cass hugged Amore and as they walked up the stage, Cass clotheslines him and tossed him down the ramp.

Singles Match: Seth Rollins vs. Curtis Hawkins

They lock up and Hawkins locked in a headlock. Rollins got out of it and hit a kick then a dive on the top rope. Rollins with a super kick then a knee strike for the win.

Winner: Rollins.

Post-match, Bray Wyatt cut a backstage promo about Rollins lead the fans into the world that is not real. He said that Rollins needs to give into who he really is. Wyatt will help him with that as he is a god. Wyatt challenged Rollins to a match at Great Balls of Fire and told him to give into his real self or he will burn.

We see Dana Brooke, and Mickie James pick their number for the Gauntlet Match.

Brock Lesnar arrives in an SUV at the arena and walks to the ring.

-Commercial Break-

Heyman was in the ring and cuts a promo about how Joe continues to stay fearless against Lesnar. He called Joe a samoan dumbass for not fearing Lesnar. He said that a smart man knows when to fear Lesnar and that time would be now. Heyman said that this is the moment that everyone will be talking about tomorrow… he introduced Lesnar. As Lesnar made his entrance, Joe attacked Lesnar and tried to lock in the Coquina Clutch but Lesnar drove him into the screen o the stage. Joe locked it in until The Revival and Karl Anderson broke it up. They walked Joe to the back as Lesnar recovered on the stage.

-Commercial Break-

Singles Match: Neville vs. Lince Dorado

Neville got in the early offense. Dorado attempted a comeback but Neville cut him off and locked in the Rings of Saturn for the win.

Winner: Neville

Post-match, Akira Tozawa, who was sitting ringside for the match, teased fighting Neville. Titus O’Neil walked out and announced that Neville would defend the Cruiserweight Championship against Tozawa at Great Balls of Fire.

-Commercial Break-

Heyman cut a backstage promo about how Samoan’s are proud people but not Joe. No, Joe sneaks up on his opponents. He said that Lesnar has his back up against the wall. He said that this would not be an easy fight but a violent fight. He vowed that Lesnar will beat Joe at Great Balls of Fire.

Alexa Bliss was talking to Nia Jax in a backstage segment. Bliss tried to compete herself to Jax, but Jax disagreed and vowed to win to tonight to go onto face her at Great Balls of Fire.

-Commercial Break-

Gauntlet Match: Mickie James vs. Nia Jax vs. Bayley vs. Dana Brooke vs. Emma vs. Sasha Banks

Nia Jax and Bayley started off the match. Bayley hit a series of strikes but Jax then knocked her down. Bayley fought back with a series of strikes and kicks. Bayley went to the top rope but Jax knocked her down. Jax hit a samoan drop for the elimination.

-Commercial Break-

Mickie James was out next. Jax locked in a bear hug but James got out of it and went for a top rope dive but Jax caught her and hit a samoan drop for the elimination.

Dana Brooke was out next. Jax tossed her in the corner but missed a splash. Jax blocked a splash and hit a leg drop for the elimination.

Emma was the next competitor. Emma knocked her down with a series of drop kicks for 2. Emma went to the top rope but Jax caught her and hit a samoan drop for the elimination.

Sasha Banks was the final competitor. Banks avoided her and tossed her to the floor. Banks went for an outside dive but Jax caught her. Banks shoved Jax into the ring post. Banks hit a dive off the apron.

-Commercial Break-

We’re back with Jax having Banks in a headlock. Jax tossed her to the floor. Banks made her way back into the ring and Jax tackled her for 2. Jax hit a powerslam for 2 then sent her to the floor. Back in the ring, Jax hit a shoulder block then a series of headbutts. Jax locked in a bear lock and a suplex for 2. Jax went for it again but Banks blocked it and avoided a leg drop. Banks with an elbow strike. Banks went for a standing Bank Statement but Jax powered out of it. Jax hit a samoan drop but Banks rolled to the apron and hit a series of kicks. Jax went for the samoan drop and locked in a modified Bank Statement for the win.

Winner: Banks

Angle walked to the ring to congratulate Banks. This led to Bliss walking out to the ring. They had a staredown and Banks drop kicked her out of the ring. She stood tall in the ring to close the show.
