WWE Monday Night Raw 7/18/16 results: Ambrose vs. Rollins, 12-man tag team match

Welcome to the WWE Raw pre-show, and we are live on the WWE Network. Scott Stanford, Booker T, and Corey Graves hype what we will see tonight, which is a 12-man tag team match that will see The New Day, John Cena and Enzo Amore and Big Cass take on The Wyatt Family and The Club. The panel talk about the WWE Draft, SmackDown going live and the WWE Title Match between Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins on RAW. Alberto Del Rio vs. Darren Young is announced for RAW.

Welcome to WWE Monday Night Raw. Stephanie McMahon walks out to the ring to open the show while the announcers run down the rules for the Draft. Shane McMahon also walks out and says that if she were his brother he would have slapped her. Stephanie said that he couldn’t do anything about the slap and said that he wouldn’t beat RAW with SmackDown. Stephanie announced that RAW would re-launch the Cruiserweight Division. Stephanie brought up RAW getting three draft picks and SmackDown getting two picks. Stephanie introduced the new RAW GM, and that person is Mick Foley. Foley thanked her and brought up his time as the commissioner of RAW back in the Attitude Era. He said that he is looking to take RAW into the future. Shane said that Foley is a great GM of RAW. Shane announced that the SmackDown GM would be Daniel Bryan, who walks down to the ring. Bryan said that Stephanie doesn’t get why the fans are chanting for him because she never got it. Bryan said that he never thought he would be back in wrestling because he loves it too much but when Shane called him and told him about making SmackDown Live about the Superstars and not the authority figures. He said that is when he knew he could come back. Bryan brought up beating HHH at WrestleMania 30. Stephanie said that Bryan is a loser just like the fans and is a B+ player for a B+ show. Shane said that Stephanie had to marry a WWE star to stay relevant. Shane and Bryan chanted YES in the ring to close the opening segment.

Tag Team Match: Sami Zayn and Cesaro vs. Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens.

Cesaro and Jericho start things off. Cesaro and Jericho exchange uppercuts. Zayn was tagged in and landed a big right hand. Zayn with a series of arm drags and worked over the left arm of Jericho. Zayn tossed Jericho to the floor but was distracted by Owens, which led to Jericho attacking Sayn from behind.

-Commercial Break-

We’re back with Zayn knocking Owens to the floor and hitting a clothesline to Jericho. Cesaro got the hot tag and hit a series of uppercuts to Jericho. Cesaro hit a drop kick to Owens then a series of uppercuts to Owens and Jericho. Jericho rolled him up for 2. Cesaro with a springboard uppercut to Jericho for 2. Zayn and Owens got the hot tag, and a brawl broke out. Owens with a big boot and then a clotheslines. Owens went for the powerbomb, but Zayn connected with a drop kick. Jericho got the tag and Cesaro did too. Cesaro with a crossbody on Jericho for 2. Jericho went for the Walls, but Cesaro fought out and hit the Giant Swing. Zayn got the tag and hit a DDT to Owens. Jericho rolled up Zayn for 2. Zayn rolled up Jericho for the win.

Winners: Zayn and Cesaro.

R-Truth and Goldust try to get Bryan to do the dab backstage. Jack Swagger and Titus O’Neil shake Bryan’s hand backstage. Stephanie told Bryan that she was surprised that he was back because he is too busy planting peaches. Stephanie said that she thinks Bryan is like Chucky because he won’t go away. Bryan congratulated her for ruining RAW.

-Commercial Break-

Singles Match: Alberto Del Rio vs. Darren Young with The Miz and Maryse on commentary.

They wrestle for about a minute until Miz got on the apron and distracted Del Rio. Young rolled up Del Rio for the win.

Winner: Young.

-Commercial Break-

John Cena cuts a promo in the ring about the WWE Draft on SmackDown Live. Cena then hypes Battleground and his match with The Club. Cena said that The Club couldn’t see him because he has the certified G’s. Amore and Cass walk down to the ring. Amore said that The Club would never be able to beat them even on the 35 of December. Cena said that Amore is just spitting out punch lines. Cass told Cena that is just what he does. Cass said that they are the three musketeers. Cena said that they need to get serious because they have a match at Battleground. Cass that they like to have fun but when it’s time to get serious, then they will. The Club walk out and said that they have chemistry but Cena, Amore, and Cass doesn’t have that. Gallows said that they have split blood together and have done so all over the world. Anderson said that they have Club goals including beat up Cena but also beat up Amore and Cass and The New Day. This led to The New Day walking out. Styles mocked Woods for being scared of Bray Wyatt. Woods said that he is a great Pokemon Go player Cena told them to stop because The New Day cut him off and said that New Day rocks. The Wyatts then walked out.

12-Man Tag Team Match: The Club and The Wyatt Family vs. The New Day, John Cena, Enzo Amore, and Big Cass.

A brawl begins the match. Kingston tried to do a springboard crossbody, but Strowman caught him and slammed him down.

We’re back with Strowman in control of Cena. The heels beat Cena down in their corner.

-Commercial Break-

We’re back with Wyatt missing a back splash on Cena. Cena got the hot tag to Cass, who hit a series of shoulder tackles to Styles. Cass hit a big elbow Styles. Strowman attacked Cass from behind then was kicked in the face and clotheslined out of the ring by Big E. Rowan took out Big E and Kingston took out Rowan. Wyatt with a big slam to Kingston. Woods took out Wyatt with a drop kick then took out the Wyatts with an outside dive. Cass with a big boot to Styles. Gallows with a big boot to Cass. Cena with an AA to Gallows. Anderson with a spine buster to Cena. Amore with a DDT to Anderson. The Wyatts and New Day brawl to the backstage area. Amore accidentally kicked Cena. Styles with the Styles Clash to Amore for the win.

Winners: The Club and The Wyatt Family

-Commercial Break-

There is a pre-taped segment with Seth Rollins cutting a promo in the empty arena. Rollins talked about his days in The Shield and said that he kept Dean Ambrose to take the beating and kept Roman Reigns around to issue the beating. Rollins said that Reigns became the top dog, but he returns this Sunday at Battleground and says Rollins will never be the same. Rollins said that he returned MITB and beat Reigns, but Ambrose stole it from him. Rollins said that he will prove at Battleground that he was always the man.

Shane and Foley are shown talking in the back. Shane asked why Foley would want to work with Stephanie. Foley said that he has seen how Stephanie operates and knows that she has passion. Foley said that he has some talent scouting to do. Shane told him to have a nice day.

-Commercial Break-

Singles Match: Baron Corbin vs. Sin Cara.

Corbin beat him down in the corner and then put the boots to him. Cara with an outside dive taking out Corbin. Cara with a crossbody but Corbin no sold it and hit End of Days for the win.

Winner: Corbin.

Post-match, Corbin beat down Cara until Kalisto ran down to make the save. Corbin retreated then slammed Kalisto on the floor.

Tag Team Match: Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte and Dana Brooke.

Banks and Brooke start things off. Banks sent Brooke into corner then tagged in Lynch. Lynch with a series of arm drags. Lynch with a knockdown and then a leg drop for 2. Banks was tagged in and sent Charlotte to the floor. Natalya ran down and attacked Lynch at ringside. Charlotte then attacked Banks.

Winners via DQ: Banks and Lynch.

Post-match, Brooke, and Charlotte beat down Banks. Charlotte and Brooke stood over Banks to end the segment.

Ambrose cuts a promo about The Shield and how he changed the course of history when he became WWE Champion. Ambrose hypes Reigns’ return at Battleground.

Tag Team Match: Sheamus and Rusev vs. Dolph Ziggler and Zack Ryder.

Sheamus and Ryder start things off. Sheamus with a series of kicks to Ryder and then hit a suplex. Ryder fought back and hit a neck breaker to Sheamus. Ziggler and Rusev got the hot tags. Ziggler with the fameasser to Rusev. Ryder clotheslines Sheamus to the floor. Ziggler rolled up Rusev for 2. Rusev hit a super kick to Ziggler and locked in the Accolade for the win.

Winners: Sheamus and Rusev

There was a hype video package for Randy Orton.

-Commercial Break-

Bryan and Foley are shown talking in the back about how familiar they are. Foley told Bryan that he is small, but they both have wives way out of their leagues. Foley said that they will always outperform anyone in their ways, and now they are standing in each other ways now. Foley said let the games begin.

WWE Title Match: Dean Ambrose © vs. Seth Rollins with Foley, Bryan, Stephanie and Shane at ringside.

They brawl to begin the match. Ambrose knocked to the floor and hit a clothesline off the apron.

-Commercial Break-

We’re back with Rollins in control of Ambrose. Ambrose fought back until he was sent face first into the turnbuckle. Ambrose fought back and hit a suplex followed by an outside dive. Rollins sent Ambrose into the barricade and hit a powerbomb into the barricade. Back in the ring, Rollins hit a frog splash for 2.

-Commercial Break-

We’re back Ambrose hitting a clothesline but ran into a big boot. Rollins with a series of kicks but Ambrose landed some chops. Rollins with a kick and then a powerbomb in the corner. Ambrose no sold it and hit a DDT. Ambrose went for a dive, but Rollins caught him and hit a Pedigree for 2. Rollins hit a superplex, and both men covered each other, and the referee counted three. There was some confusion. Shane celebrated with Ambrose while Stephanie celebrated with Rollins. Stephanie announced Rollins was the winner. Shane argued with Stephanie and Rollins celebrated on the stage to close the show.

WWE announced on Twitter after RAW that Ambrose is still WWE Champion.
