WWE Monday Night Raw 9/19/16 results: Owens vs. Reigns, Rollins vs. Rusev

Welcome to the WWE Raw pre-show, and we are live on the WWE Network. We get a recap package of last week’s episode of RAW. Scott Stanford, Booker T, Lita, and Jerry Lawler hype what we will see tonight, which is Mick Foley’s punishment for Seth Rollins. TJ Perkins appeared on the show via Skype and said that he would like to wrestle Cedric Alexander or Jake Gallagher. Dana Brooke bragged to Charlotte that she beat Sasha Banks and Bayley last week during a backstage segment.

Welcome to WWE Monday Night Raw, there is a recap video of last week’s episode of Raw. Roman Reigns walks down to the ring begin the show. Before he can talk, Stephanie McMahon walked out and said that they have come up with a solution for last week’s problem. Mick Foley then walks down to the ring. Reigns said that two weeks ago Triple H screwed him over and then last week the Rusev screwed him over. Foley booked Reigns vs. Rusev for the US Title at Clash of Champions. Reigns didn’t believe think Triple H would ever show his face again. Foley said that that they are in a war with SmackDown Live, and if they lose then he will be out of a job, but McMahon would have a job. Foley said that it’s time to make things right, and his word is his bond. Foley booked Reigns vs. Owens for tonight. Kevin Owens walked out and protested Foley’s decision. Owens mocked Reigns for not competing for the WWE Universal Title at Clash of Champions. McMahon made it clear that it would be a non-title match and would be inside a steel cage.

-Commercial Break-

Singles Match: Seth Rollins vs. Rusev.

They lock up and then Rusev kick him in the gut. Rusev landed a series of big strikes then Rollins hit a big boot and an over castle followed by a drop kick. Rollins missed a dive off the apron, and Rusev sent him back first into the ring post. Back in the ring, Rollins tried to fight back with strikes, and Rusev missed a dive. Rollins with some chops then went to the top rope, but Rusev knocked him down.

-Commercial Break-

We’re back with Rusev in control, but Rollins caught him with a kick to the side of the head. Rollins tripped him and then hit the sling blade. Rollins with a series of forearm shots then he went for a suplex but Rusev blocked it, and Rollins kicked him in the but and hit the falcon arrow. Rollins went for a superkick but it was caught, and Rusev hit a knee strike in the gut followed by a head kick for 2. Rollins rolled to the apron, used to the top rope to his advantage and hit a flying knee then went for a frog splash, but Rusev rolled to the floor. Rollins hit an outside dive taking out Rusev. Rollins hit another outside dive. They fought to the state area and were counted out.

Post-match, Rusev went for a powerbomb, but Rollins reversed and kneed him off the stage. Rollins hit a dive off the announcer’s table.

Brooke was showing Foley that last week’s triple threat match had a double pin and wanted Foley to cancel tonight’s tag team match then have Banks vs. Bayley tonight to find a #1 contender. Foley booked Charlotte vs. Banks vs. Bayley at Clash of Champions.

-Commercial Break-

Singles Match: Braun Strowman vs. Sin Cara.

Strowman beat him down in the early going. Cara hit a jawbreaker and then went for a springboard dive, but Strowman caught him and hit his power slam finisher for the win.

Winner: Strowman.

There was a backstage segment with Bayley and Banks. Banks thought she beat Bayley last week, but Bayley said that it would be determined this Sunday. They both agreed to be on the same page tonight.

-Commercial Break-

Tag Team Match: Charlotte and Dana Brooke vs. Sasha Banks and Bayley.

Banks and Charlotte started things off. Banks put the boots to her then tagged in Bayley who sent Charlotte into Brooke.

-Commercial Break-

We’re back from break with Charlotte in control of Banks as she hit a clothesline for 2. Charlotte put the boots to her. Brooke was tagged in and worked over Banks. Charlotte beat her down, but Banks fought back and got the hot tag to Bayley. Bayley hit a splash in the corner. Brooke saved Charlotte and Charlotte hit a big boot to Bayley for the win.

Winners: Charlotte and Dana Brooke

Singles Match: Bo Dallas vs. Gary Graham.

Dallas attacked him right out of the gate and hit a clothesline. Grand rolled him up for 2 and Dallas hit sent him into the ropes and hit a series of knee strikes. Dallas hit his finisher for the win.

Winner: Dallas.

-Commercial Break-

Match #6 of the Best of Seven Series: Cesaro vs. Sheamus.

They start brawling, and Cesaro went for the Neutralizer. Sheamus blocked, Cesaro hit an uppercut and rolled him up for 2. Sheamus grabbed the bottom rope and sent Cesaro to the floor.

-Commercial Break-

We’re back with Sheamus in control of Cesaro. Cesaro fought back, sent him to the floor and hit an uppercut. Back in the ring, Cesaro hit a springboard uppercut for 2. Sheamus caught him and hit White Noise on the apron. Sheamus went for a big boot, but Cesaro reversed and rolled him up for 2. Sheamus hit a backbreaker for 2. Sheamus hit another one and went for the Cloverleaf submission, but Cesaro reversed and rolled him up for 2. Cesaro with an uppercut and Sheamus rolled him up for 2. Sheamus countered the Neutralizer and missed the big boot. Cesaro caught him and hit the Neutralizer for the win.

Winner: Cesaro.

Foley announced that #7 between Cesaro and Sheamus would take place at Clash of Champions. Chris Jericho walked in and said that Foley has never liked him. Jericho said that he is making the list of Jericho. Foley said that he couldn’t hear him because he only has one ear and called Jericho a student idiot and that he looks ridiculous.

-Commercial Break-

Jericho cuts a promo in the ring about how Foley has been doing a terrible job as GM. Jericho came up with a list of reasons why Foley is bad for RAW. #1 he is trying to break up Owens and Jericho. #5 he has terrible fashion taste. #12 he likes Sami Zayn and then bragged about beating Zayn up last week. Enzo Amore and Big Cass walked out. Amore said that he isn’t best friends with Owens because a real friend wouldn’t allow them to wear a vest and a scarf. Cass listed a series of people who are best friends. Jericho said that half of those people don’t exist. The Shining Stars walked out and said that Amore looked angry, but he should check into the Shining Star resort. The New Day then walked down to the ring and said that they came out here because they had nothing better else to do. New Day vowed to beat Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows at Clash of Champions. Anderson and Gallows walked out and mocked New Day. Jericho said that he is making a new list of stupid idiots and they would all be featured on the list. Zayn ran down and attacked Jericho.

-Commercial Break-

10-Man Tag Team Match: New Day, Zayn and Big Cass and Amore vs. Gallows, Anderson, Jericho, and The Shining Stars.

Jericho and Kingston started things off. Jericho with a shoulder block and Kingston with an elbow strike. Kingston hit a crossbody for 2. Moments later, Big Cass got the tag and hit a power slam to Primo then an elbow drop for 2. Epico broke it up, and then Amore tossed him to the floor. Gallows hit Cass with a big boot. Big E sent Anderson and Gallows to the floor. Kingston hit them with an outside dive. Jericho took out Big E and Zayn attacked Jericho from behind. Zayn hit a DDT to Jericho then hit Primo with a big boot. Amore was tagged in and hit a splash to Primo for the win.

Winners: New Day, Zayn and Big Cass and Amore

-Commercial Break-

There was a video package hyping the cruiserweight division.

Fatal 4-Way #1 Contender Match: Cedric Alexander vs. Rich Swann vs. Brian Kendrick vs. Gran Metalik.

All four stars start brawling. Swann hit Metalik with a dropkick then started dancing. Kendrick took out Swann with a back elbow. Kendrick kicked Swann out of the ring. Alexander hit Kendrick with a back elbow then hit a series of chops. Kendrick ducked out of the ring and Alexander hit a kick to Kendrick. Alexander then rolled up Metalik then put the boots to him. Alexander went for a suplex, but Metalik blocked and hit a springboard elbow. Alexander with a springboard clothesline. Swann took out Alexander and kicked him in the back. Swann sent Kendrick to the floor and worked over the neck of Alexander. Alexander with a chop and Swann fired back with his own. Alexander reversed a hurricanrana and Swann hit a big right hand. Alexander hit a head scissors and Swann rolled to the floor. Alexander took out Kendrick with a dive. Metalik sent Swann to the floor. Metalik took all three men out with an outside dive. Kendrick hit a big boot to Swann.

-Commercial Break-

We’re back with Metalik in control of Swann as he hit a standing shooting star for 2. Metalik went to the top rope and went for a moonsault, but Swann got his feet up. Swann hit a powerbomb for 2 as Alexander broke it up. Alexander hit Swann with a big right hand. Alexander hit a springboard kick for 2. Alexander hit Kendrick with a kick. Kendrick tossed out Alexander then hit Metalik with a DDT for 2. Alexander took out Kendrick and Swann knocked down Alexander then hit a knee strike for 2. Kendrick tossed out Swann and locked in the Captain Hook on Alexander, but Metalik broke it up. Metalik lifted up Alexander but he blocked, and Alexander hit a backbreaker. Kendrick locked in the Captain Hook on Alexander for the win.

Winner: Kendrick. He will now face TJ Perkins for the WWE Cruiserweight Title at Clash of Champions.

Steel Cage Match: Kevin Owens vs. Roman Reigns.

They brawl to begin the match.

-Commercial Break-

We’re back with both men exchanging head butts while on the top rope. Owens pushed Reigns off and Reigns sent him balls first on the top rope. Reigns sent him into the steel and then hit a clothesline. Owens tried to escape but Reigns stopped him and Reigns hit a samoan drop for 2. Owens fought back and hit a german suplex. Reigns knocked him down and tried to get out of the cage. Reigns with a back elbow and then some right hands. Owens with a super kick but Reigns hit a superman punch for 2. Reigns went for a spear and Owens hit the pop-up powerbomb for 2. Owens went to the top rope but Reigns knocked him down with the superman punch. Owens tried to go out the door while Reigns climbed over the cage. Reigns dropped to the floor first for the win.

Winner: Reigns.

Post-match, Rusev ran down and attacked Reigns. Owens and Rusev continued the beatdown. Rusev locked the cage door. Rollins ran down to the ring and climbed the cage to make the save. Rollins dove off the cage onto Owens and Rusev to close the show.
