Hulk Hogan Tribute
The show started with the wrestlers on stage. Triple H honored Hulk Hogan and gave him the 10 bell salute. A video package of Hogan aired afterwards.
Jey Uso – Paul Heyman war of words
Jey Uso came to the ring. Before he could get a word out, Paul Heyman came to the ring. Heyman said sticking with family will get you in trouble. When Roman Reigns picked who would be next in line, he didn’t pick you. He picked Solo.Â
Jey said you screwed my cousin at WrestleMania. Your boys screwed me out of my World Heavyweight Championship. Whatever happens tonight and whatever happens at SummerSlam is on your ass.Â
AJ Styles & The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka & Kairi Sane) vs The Judgment Day (Dominik Mysterio, Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez)
Roxanne stepped in front of Dominik which prevented Styles from delivering the Phenomenal Forearm. Styles ducked a forearm by Dominik and hit him with the Pele kick. Roxanne dove at Styles, but Styles moved out of the way sending Roxanne through the ropes. Sane delivered an Insane Elbow over the top rope onto Raquel. With the women now out of the way, Styles delivered the Phenomenal Foreman on Dominik and pinned him.
Winners: AJ Styles & The Kabuki Warriors
Backstage:
Grayson Waller and The New Day approached Sheamus. Sheamus accepted Waller’s challenge to a match. Waller told Sheamus we are not afraid of you. When Waller turned around, The New Day was already gone.
Sheamus vs Grayson Waller
Sheamus gave Waller 10 Beats to the Bodhran. Rusev got on the ring apron to attack Sheamus but was met by a clothesline. Waller rolled up Sheamus for a two-count. Sheamus nailed Waller with the Brogue Kick to score the pinfall. After the match, Rusev attacked Sheamus with the shillelagh and put him in the Accolade.
Winner: Sheamus
Backstage:
Naomi said IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley are fake and I’m going to beat them at SummerSlam. They are passive-aggressive. I’m aggressive-aggressive, and you’re going to see that in the 8 Woman Tag Team Match tonight.
Hulk Hogan Tribute continues:
Logan Paul, AJ Styles, Jim Duggan, Jimmy Hart, Natalya, Jey Uso, The Miz and Cody Rhodes all gave complimentary statements about Hulk Hogan.
Backstage:
Paul Heyman told Bronson Reed that Jey Uso’s family said now that Seth Rollins is on the shelf for an extended period of time, we’re nothing than just a group without a leader…which we now have. Bron Breakker walked in. Breakker told Reed, you got this. We’ve got this. Tonight you’re going to destroy Jey Uso. We’re going to restore ultimate power and control over WWE and that starts tonight with you.
Reed said tonight Jey Uso and any member of his family, I’m going to leave down, out, and Tsunamied.
After Reed left, Heyman said, that worked. Breakker said I have a plan. Heyman had a confused look on his face upon hearing that.
Lyra Valkyria – Becky Lynch brawl
Lyra Valkyria said she is prepared to go to a place she’s never gone before in order to defeat Becky Lynch at SummerSlam. Becky came to ringside with a kendo stick and Lyra dove at her through the ropes. Lyra grabbed the kendo stick and began hitting her with it. Becky finally got the kendo stick from Lyra. Becky went to hit Lyra with it, but Lyra ducked and the kendo stick fell out of her hands. Lyra went for the Nightwing, but Becky escaped and left the ring.
Earlier today:
Corey Graves interviewed Sami Zayn. Zayn said I don’t know what Karrion Kross wants out of me. It’s standing in the way of me becoming World Heavyweight Champion. As long as I’m dealing with Kross, that’s not going to happen so at SummerSlam, I’m going to put an end to it once and for all.
Kross and Scarlett showed up and asked Graves to leave. Kross said everybody I’ve dealt with in WWE, I’ve gotten them to show their true colors…except you, which is starting to piss me off. After I beat you at SummerSlam, you’re going to say, Kross told the truth. Then I’ll go away and you can go on and become World Champion. You’re no different than anybody else, and you’re no better than me.
Kross tossed the pipe to Zayn. Zayn said if you beat me at SummerSlam, I’ll say whatever it is you want me to say. When I beat you at SummerSlam, I want you to look me in the eyes and tell me that you were wrong. Zayn gave the pipe back to Kross and left.
Backstage:
Bayley was asked what was next for her. Bayley said I’ve lost my opportunity at the IC title and the tag team titles. I already missed WrestleMania and now I’m missing SummerSlam. For the first time in my career, I’m at a loss for words.
Rhea Ripley, IYO SKY, Stephanie Vaquer and Nikki Bella vs Naomi, Chelsea Green and the Secret Hervice (Piper Niven & Alba Fyre)
Ripley gave Niven the Riptide. Green slapped Ripley across the face. Green turned around and Vaquer hit her with the SVB and pinned her.
Winners: Rhea Ripley, IYO SKY, Stephanie Vaquer and Nikki Bella
Backstage:
The Judgement Day was moping around in the clubhouse. Finn Balor gave them a pep talk. Roxanne gave Dominik a video game and said we can play WWE2K25. Raquel said Liv Morgan also likes to play video games.
Backstage:
Rhea Ripley told IYO SKY that we are friends right now, but at SummerSlam, I am going to have your number. IYO said you’ve never beaten me and you never will. Ripley said we’ll see about that and walked away.
World Tag Team Championship Match: The Judgment Day (Finn Balor & JD McDonagh) (champions) vs The LWO (Joaquin Wilde & Cruz Del Toro)
El Grande American jumped on the ring apron but Dragon Lee pulled him down and they brawled to the back. Del Toro went to the top rope, but another El Grande American showed up and pushed Del Toro off the ropes. Balor went to the top rope and delivered the Coupe de Grace on Del Toro and pinned him.
Winners: The Judgment Day
Gunther said last week I left the voice of the voiceless speechless and made CM Punk shut up. Punk came to the ring. Punk said it dawned on me that I don’t want to be World Heavyweight Champion. I need to be World Heavyweight Champion. I’ve earned the right to call myself the best in the world and be arrogant about it. You’re arrogant but can’t back it up. For as great as you are, you’re not on my level, and at SummerSlam, I’m going to become World Heavyweight Champion.
Jey Uso vs Bronson Reed (w/Paul Heyman)
Jey dove through the ropes onto Reed onto the floor. Breakker ran down the aisle and speared Jey resulting in a disqualification. Breakker and Reed threw Jey back into the ring and began punching him which brought out Roman Reigns. Reigns hit Reed with a Superman punch and clotheslined Breakker over the top rope. Jey hit Breakker with a superkick and Reigns hit Reed with another Superman punch.
Jey and Reigns charged after Breakker and Reed outside the ring, but Breakker speared Reigns while Reed nailed Jey with a clothesline. Breakker and Reed threw Jey back in the ring so Breakker could nail Jey with a spear. Breakker held Jey down and Reed hit him with a Tsunami. He then dove from the ring apron and clotheslined Reigns sending them over the announce table. Breakker threw Reigns back in the ring for Reed to hit the Tsunami. With Reigns and Jey outside the ring, Breakker ran around the ring and speared both through the barricade.
