We start the show with CM Punk standing in the back. Adam Pearce told him if he’s going to stand and wait all day, wait inside. Punk said no. There is one way inside and out of this arena. Seth’s got to come through here, so I’ll wait here. Pearce said have it your way and left.
Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker challenge Jey Uso and LA Knight to a match tonight
Jey Uso said I was supposed to be standing here tonight with the World Heavyweight Championship around my waist, and instead, I have medical tape around it. I’m running it back and thinking that if I would have stayed out of Roman’s match, I probably would have been alright. What if I listened to his advice instead of trying to help him? If you know anything about me, my family comes first. Roman is laid up in the hospital and I can hear him telling me to smash them all, so Seth, Reed, and Breakker, bring your ass out here.
LA Knight came out. I can say we lost that match last night. I can’t say you live in your cousin’s shadow, but I can say Seth lives in his wife’s. We had a chance to put Seth through the table and you spoiled that. I’m tired of being left laying and I’m tired of not being World Heavyweight Champion.
Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed came out. Breakker said the only thing anybody should be concerned about right now is Paul Heyman’s health because he’s in the hospital thanks to Roman Reigns. You two should be really concerned because there’s nobody to hold us back. We are a couple of dogs off the leash. Breakker challenged Jey and Knight to a tag team match tonight. Knight and Jey agreed to the match.
Backstage:
IYO Sky apologized to the Kabuki Warriors for what happened last week. Asuka said it’s okay and we will take care of Judgment Day today for you. IYO asked if they needed help. Asuka said unlike Rhea, we don’t need help. IYO said I am done with Rhea, but there is something else I want to tell you. Asuka said we don’t have time now because we have a match.
The Judgment Day (Raquel Rodriguez & Roxanne Perez) vs The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka & Kairi Sane)
Roxanne rolled out of the Asuka lock to score a near fall. Sane jumped from the top turnbuckle onto Rodriguez outside the ring. Asuka blocked the Pop Rocks and submitted Perez with the Asuka lock.
Winners: The Kabuki Warriors
With Naomi having to vacate the World Women’s Championship, Adam Pearce announced that Stephanie Vaquer will take on IYO SKY for the championship live on ESPN at Wrestlepaloooza.
Finn Balor (w/JD McDonagh) vs Dragon Lee
Lee gave Balor an enziguri as he made his way to the top turnbuckle. McDonagh got up on the ring apron and gave him a hurricanrana over the top rope. Lee got back in the ring. Balor knocked him down, gave him the Coup de Grace, and pinned him.
Winner: Finn Balor
Backstage:
- Nikki Bella told IYO SKY that Stephanie is my girl, but I’m a big fan of yours too. IYO told her I hope you get another shot at Becky. The Kabuki Warriors came in. Nikki left. Asuka told IYO that Nikki is not your friend. We will be tag team champions and I will help you with Stephanie Vaquer. IYO said I don’t need the help. I can beat her alone. Asuka said you didn’t win at SummerSlam alone. We will help you and we will be champions again. Asuka left. Kairi tried to talk to IYO and Asuka yelled at Kairi, let’s go.
- JD McDonagh and Finn Balor asked Dominik Mysterio where he was for Finn’s match earlier. Dominik said I was there in spirit. AJ Styles is still on my case. We have to figure something out. Adam Pearce came by and said Finn and JD will be banned from ringside for Dominik’s match tonight against Styles. Balor grinned and told him I guess we’ll be there in spirit.
The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods) and Grayson Waller vs The War Raiders (Erik & Ivar) & Penta
Waller gave Penta a knee to the jaw. Ivar gave a spin kick to Waller. Woods gave Ivar a DDT. Erik picked up Woods and Ivar came off the top rope with a slam on top of him. Penta gave Woods the Mexican Destroyer and pinned him.
Winners: The War Raiders and Penta
Backstage:
Rhea Ripley said I respect IYO SKY and Stephanie Vaquer but I’ve never taken my eye off the prize. Whoever wins, I’m going to do whatever it takes to earn a championship shot.
The Kabuki Warriors appeared. Asuka said you want a title match before IYO even wins? Ripley said I don’t know why you have a problem with me. Of course I want a championship match. Everybody does. This has nothing to do with my friendship with IYO. Asuka said you are not friends, so stay away. Ripley said I’ve been trying to play nice for IYO’s sake, but don’t push me. Asuka said I’ve been making history for ten years and I will push anyone I want. Rhea said try me. Asuka said no one is ready for Asuka, not even you. As she walked away, Sane stayed behind and looked like she was going to talk to Rhea. Asuka yelled at Sane saying, let’s go.
Backstage:
Roxanne Perez told Adam Pearce that she should be added to the Stephanie Vaquer and IYO SKY title match at Wrestlepalooza. Pearce said they earned title matches and you just lost. Lyra Valkyria showed up. Roxanne told her you should be looking for your bestie Bayley. Lyra said you don’t get to talk about Bayley. Raquel told Lyra after the way you yelled at Bayley, it’s no wonder she didn’t show up at Raw. Pearce told Roxanne and Raquel to leave. After they left, Pearce told Lyra that I talked to Bayley. She sounded great. She said some weird things, but she’ll be back. Lyra said I need to get back in the ring. Give me a match with a member of Judgment Day. Pearce said I’ll give you one next week.
Intercontinental Championship Match: Dominik Mysterio (Champion) vs AJ Styles
Styles blocked the 619 and gave Dominik the Styles Clash. Styles went for the cover but Dominik got his foot on the rope. He picked Dominik up and gave him a Brainbuster. As the ref was checking on Dominik, Styles was setting up the Phenomenal Forearm. Before Styles could launch off the ropes, El Grande Americano pulled him off the ring apron. He loaded his mask and hit Styles in the chest with a headbutt. Dominik hit a frog splash off the top rope onto Styles and pinned him to retain the title.
Winner and still Intercontinental Champion: Dominik Mysterio
Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman medical update:
Michael Cole said last night at the Clash in Paris, Paul Heyman suffered a larynx contusion and Roman Reigns suffered multiple fractured ribs and will be out indefinitely.
Backstage:
- LA Knight said I don’t know if it’s the best decision to go out there tonight with Jey Uso. I’m all taped up, but I can’t quit. If I have to go through Reed and Breakker on my path to the World Championship, then that’s what I have to do. Can I trust Jey? We can either survive together or die apart. As far as trusting him, if you do dirt, you get dirt. Don’t make me give you dirt. Jey Uso showed up. He said they got my cousin. Tonight, we don’t have a problem.
- Rhea Ripley told CM Punk she’s sorry for what happened last night at Clash. Punk said you’ve had a run of bad luck too. Ripley walked away. Adam Pearce came up to Punk and said I heard Seth Rollins is in the building. Punk asked him how that happened. Pearce said he didn’t know. Punk said I’ll handle this and walked away
Rusev vignette:
Rusev said I beat Sheamus last night. Maybe we can be friends again now that you know your place. Let it be known to everybody on this roster that I was scary when I was held back, but I’m devastating now that I’m free.
Becky Lynch confronts CM Punk
CM Punk came to the ring. He said I’ve been too patient waiting for Seth Rollins. I’m hijacking this show until you come out here and face me man to man. Seth Rollins music played but Becky Lynch came out. Punk said I’m not doing this. This has nothing to do with you. Becky said do you think what you’re doing only affects one member of my family?
Punk was starting to leave but Becky said you are going to stay here and listen to what I have to say. I’ve had to listen to you tell lies about my husband, the father of my child, the greatest man I’ve ever known. Punk said your husband is a coward. Becky said my husband sacrificed more for this business than you will ever know and he is everything you will never be. When you walked out of here, it was your name they chanted during my matches to let me know they didn’t care about me or what I was doing or the hard work I was putting in.
Becky told Punk you need to get out of the way because you’re not what the business needs. You don’t fit the vision. Punk said the vision is blurry. Rollins hides behind Heyman, Breakker, Reed, and now behind his wife. Far be it for me to reduce somebody of your stature to just somebody’s wife because you are an extremely talented superstar. You’re the man, but you got bad taste and you married a bum. I need him to know he’s a paper champion and this will never be over.
Seth Rollins came out of the entrance way. He said if you have something to say to me, come up here and say it to my face. As Punk started to make a move out of the ring, Becky got in front of him. Punk went around her and Rollins left. Punk turned around and Becky punched and slapped him in the face multiple times asking what he was going to do about it. Rollins said I’m going to make Seth regret he ever cashed in on me and I’m going to make you regret you put your hands on me. As Punk was leaving the ring, Becky told him to get out of here and never come back.
After the commercial break, Punk was backstage asking Adam Pearce where Rollins went to. Pearce said he got in the car and left. Punk asked him where SmackDown is this week. Pearce said Chicago. Punk smiled, said that’s perfect, and left.
Jey Uso & LA Knight vs Bronson Reed & Bron Breakker
As all four participants were fighting outside the ring, Reed threw Knight into the ring post. Jey and Reed got back in the ring. Reed missed a charge into the turnbuckle. Jey superkicked Reed three times and gave him a spear. He gave Reed the Uso Splash off the top rope but got hit with a spear by Breakker and pinned.
They continued the beating on Jey. Knight tried to help but got speared by Breakker. Reed threw Knight over the announce table. Breakker hit Jey with another spear and Reed hit him with a Tsunami. Jimmy Uso came to the ring with a chair causing Breakker and Reed to leave the ring.
