WWE Monday Night Raw results
April 20, 2015
We are live with Monday Night Raw coverage.
The show starts with a recap of the Rollins/Authority/Orton storyline from last week.
Randy Orton comes out to the ring to kick off the show. The steel cage lowers as Orton enters the ring. Orton says Seth Rollins is a dumb bastard. He says Rollins chose to ban the RKO. Orton says the RKO isn’t his greatest weapon, it’s his ability to inflict pain on those who deserve it and Rollins deserves it better than anyone. He says Seth gave him no choice but to make this slow and agonizingly painful for him. Orton says he will break Seth’s jaw and he will do it so these people don’t have to listen to Seth run his mouth every week. Then he’ll stick a boot deep in Seth’s gut and break a rib or two. Then he’ll pick him up by the hair and will run him into the steel cage over and over. Rollins comes out on the stage with J&J Security. Rollins says Randy has an anger problem. Rollins says he plays the game of human chess better than anybody and that’s why he is on track to being the greatest WWE Heavyweight champion of all time and he can outmaneuver anyone inside the ring and he can out think anyone outside of the ring and “all of this” he is the best at it. He said he has the title to prove it and while Randy is one of the greatest superstars of all time, Seth is that much better. He said that Randy will not be champion after Extreme Rules. Orton interrupts. Randy said he’ll RKO every “son of a bitch” he sees and he’ll RKO Seth before Raw goes off the air and that’s a promise.
They plug Triple H’s “Tough Enough” announcement…still to come later in the show. Dean Ambrose comes out for his match.
Dean Ambrose vs. Luke Harper
Harper cuts a short promo as he walks to the ring and says Ambrose will be afraid of him after tonight. There really wasn’t a match since both men refused to listen to the referee. It was a brawl and they made their way up to the stage area. Harper went for a powerbomb off the stage but Ambrose slipped out but Harper shoves Ambrose off the stage. Harper runs off. Ambrose is left looking upset on the stage area.
Backstage, J&J Security are escorting Rollins. Rollins is scared of Orton popping up. Titus O’Neil does the dog bark and scares them. Rollins yells at a production guy for laughing. Triple H shows up on the screen. He says they look a little nervous. Triple H says he doesn’t want people to see the WWE champion sweat. Rollins says he’ll handle Orton but asks about Kane. Triple H says he is letting Kane cool off plus he (Triple H) has been a little busy with Tough Enough. Triple H says “we’ll talk” when Kane gets here. Rollins asks about Randy. He says he could use some more security. Triple H says it’s one guy. He walks off.
The Lucha Dragons come out for their match.
Lucha Dragons vs. The New Day
The winners become the number 1 contenders for the tag team title. Kalisto and Big E start the match. Fans start the “New Day sucks” chants early in the match. Kalisto tagged Sin Cara into the match after a minute. Cesaro, Tyson Kidd, and Natalya are backstage watching the match on the TV monitor. Nice sequence of moves between Kofi and Sin Cara. Big E and Sin Cara in the ring…Big E takes Sin Cara down with a clothesline as the go to commercial. Big E was still in control as they came back from commercial. Sin Cara was finally able to tag in Kalisto. Kofi tags in too. Kalisto is really really good. Big E broke up a pin attempt but Kalisto does a spring board flip into the ropes and turns it into a kick to Big E. Double somersault dive off the top on to Kofi and Big E on the outside of the ring. The referee counts all four men out, Kofi makes it into the ring. Sin Cara almost made it in but Xavier Woods held on to his leg so he’s counted out. The New Day celebrate the win. They are going to challenge for the titles this Sunday. Orton runs in the ring and RKO’s Woods and Kofi. Big E acts like he’s going to step in the ring but stops and walks away.
Michael Cole plugged the free month trial for the WWE Network.
Video recap of Big Show’s attack on Roman Reigns from last week. Parts of the recap included excerpts of Big Show’s promo on Smackdown.
Fandango vs. Curtis Axel
Fandango hits the leg drop and gets the quick win. Short match. Fandango is a full-blown babyface now and the fans are into him now that he’s using his old music.
Triple H is shown backstage. He’s up next.
Triple H’s announcement
Eden introduces Triple H. He says a year ago The Authority had to make a decision about the future of WWE. He talked about the face, and future of WWE. He said Seth Rollins is that man. He said it’s time to find the next Seth Rollins and it starts on June 23rd on USA Network. He says it’s the reality show that allows you to possibly live your dream. He asks if the fans have dreamed about walking down that ramp in front of thousands in the arena and millions at home. He asks “who hasn’t dreamed” of that. He talks about what it would be like for that person to stand in front of 76,000 people at WrestleMania. He talks about the fame, power, and the glory. He said that being a WWE Superstar is better than any dream that you could ever have and “YOU” have the opportunity to turn that dream into reality and you just have to show the world that you are Tough Enough. He plugged WWEToughEnough.com. 10 men and 5 women will be selected for the show. One man and one woman will be chosen by WWE decision makers and the WWE Universe. He asks the audience “do you have what it takes?” Kane’s music plays and he comes out. He’s still in a suit. Kane said he’s sent voicemails, emails, and text messages all week. He said it’s been his honor to server as Director of Operations but he can’t deal with the disrespect from Seth Rollins so since Triple H has put his faith in him then his decision is obvious and he is giving his 2 weeks notice. Triple H says that they can talk about this backstage and talk it out like men. Seth Rollins comes out with J&J. He’s offended by Kane’s comments and says that if he wants to quit then let him quit and “good riddance.” Kane says he doesn’t remember Rollins calling him a loser last week when he put his hand around Seth’s throat. Rollins said he did his job and lost and tucked his tail between his leg and did what he was told because that’s what he always does. Kane said Rollins is a spoiled punk that has been giving everything and he’s champion because “we” made you champion. Kane said they could have made El Torito champion if they wanted. Kane is really angry. Triple H said this is not how “we” do business. He stared down Rollins and Kane. Triple H said that Kane did what was right and what was best for business and that’s what he always does and no one has been more loyal than Kane which is why Kane will be guardian of the gate this Sunday in the Orton vs. Rollins match this Sunday. If anyone tries to get in or out of the cage then they’ll have to go through Kane. Rollins is not happy with this. Rollins reluctantly shakes Kane’s hand and walks off.
Video recap of Naomi attacking Paige last week. Paige will be out of action for an unspecified amount of time, according to the storyline.
Kane and Rollins argue backstage. Triple H breaks it up. He tells Kane that he has corporate responsibilities and is no longer “hellfire and brimstone.” Kane says he is and he’ll prove it. Triple H tells Rollins that it took a lot of people to make him the champion including Kane and he should appreciate that. He said that going out each and every night is how he proves it and tonight he will step in the ring and face Dolph Ziggler.
Naomi vs. Brie Bella
They showed a pre-taped promo of Naomi saying that she took out Paige and she is done waiting for her turn. Nikki Bella is at ringside. They showed the Bellas Muscle and Fitness magazine cover. Naomi was in control for a good portion of the match. They got a lot of time to work. Brie made a brief comeback but Naomi rammed Brie into the turnbuckle. Naomi misses a cross body off the top and allows Brie to attempt to get a pin but Naomi gets the win after hitting the Rear view.
The cut back to backstage in the catering area. Heath Slater is talking to Erick Rowan about accepting Cena’s challenge tonight. Orton hits the RKO on Slater through the catering table.
Roman Reigns promo
He says he doesn’t feel like talking. He calls out Big Show but Bo Dallas comes out instead. Bo said anger leads to hate and hate leads to suffering. He said Reigns has suffered after failing at WrestleMania. He said “you’re kind of a bust.” He calls him the Tim Tebow of WWE. He says that if Roman works hard then his dreams will come true if he BOLIEVES. Roman knocks out Dallas with the Superman punch. Loud boos from fans. Roman spears Dallas as fans keep booing. Roman says Big Show has no choice this Sunday and he will be the last man standing this Sunday. “You can BOLIEVE that.”
Commercial for the new Ultimate Warrior DVD. You can get it by clicking here.
Sheamus vs. Zack Ryder
Sheamus acts like he’s going to say something but suckers Ryder in and brogue kicks him. He says he can pin Ryder but there’s no fun in that so he thinks Zack deserves more than a 5 second match. Sheamus stomps Ryder in the corner. He says the problem with WWE is all of these pretenders and these normal people and “none of you would last 2 seconds in the ring with me.” He sets up Ryder in the corner turnbuckle and hits him with knee lifts. He says the guys like Ryder, Ziggler, and Daniel Bryan are pretenders. He tosses Ryder out of the ring. He kicks Ryder in the face again at ringside and bring him back in the ring as Sheamus continues to talk on the mic. Ziggler runs in the ring and hits the Zig Zag just as Sheamus was setting up for another brogue kick. Sheamus retreats up the ramp. Sheamus was announced as the winner because of disqualification. That is the most ridiculous thing ever. They would have been better off not announcing anyone as the winner.

John Cena’s open challenge – Kane accepts
Cena cuts a promo talking about his match with Rusev this Sunday. He said he’ll prove that WrestleMania was not a fluke, it was a statement that the champ is here. He said he will prove that the US title is a symbol of excellence and opportunity and he will shove a Russian steel chain up Rusev’s ass. Cena said he’s not in a losing mood and the US Open challenge starts now. Kane comes out to accept. Rollins is watching backstage. Nothing special to this match. Cena retains after hitting the AA. Rollins and J&J were laughing backstage.
Hulk Hogan’s Rock N’ Wrestling is on tonight on the WWE Network.
Backstage Kane is upset. He walks by Triple H and says nothing. Renée interviews The Miz. Miz does his typical promo. Renée interrupted Miz because they had to go to Byron Saxton who was interviewing John Cena. Rusev attacks Cena with the chain. He locks in The Accolade with the steel chain around Cena’s face. Referees step in to get Rusev to get off of Cena.
Damien Mizdow vs. The Miz
The winner gets the rights to “The Miz” brand. Summer Rae is at ringside in Mizdow’s corner. Miz shoved Mizdow in between the ropes. It was very obvious what was about to happen because Mizdow was there for a couple of seconds too long as he waited on Summer Rae. Summer rakes Mizdow’s eyes, Miz hits the skull crushing finale and pins Mizdow. Miz says “I’m the Miz and i’m….” Orton shows up and RKO’s Miz.
Another Bray Wyatt promo.
Ryback vs. Adam Rose
Easy win for Ryback. Shellshock, clothesline, pin. Two rosebuds (a hot dog and a banana) enter the ring. Ryback clotheslines them and then puts both of them on his back and shellshocks them. Maybe this is the end of the Rose Buds. Ryback says, “What did the banana say to the hot dog? Nothing cuz their asses just got shellshocked.” Rosa gets in the ring to check on Rose.
They show Kane backstage. Renée Young catches up with him. She asks how he feels about J&J saying on social media that they will get him denture cream or a box of depends. Kane walks off and walks up to Rollins and J&J. Rollins said that was supposed to be a private conversation. Kane said Rollins can say it to his face. Rollins said he’s sorry. He said the Orton thing has him on edge and he knows that Kane helped him win the MITB contract but it just gets embarrassing when it’s mentioned over and over but he appreciates Kane so much that he dedicates tonight’s match with Dolph to Kane. He says Kane is the bigger man literally and figuratively. Rollins walks out to head to the ring. Orton steps into view and stares at Rollins as Rollins is walking off.
Seth Rollins vs. Dolph Ziggler
I would bet anything that the cage will get lowered sometime during this match or when the match is over. They went to commercial about a minute after the match started. Sheamus caused a distraction late in the match allowing Seth to ram Ziggler into the turnbuckle and then hit his new finisher on Dolph to get the win. Seth grabs the mic and says that he did what he said he was gonna do and proved that he is the man. He said that Orton’s RKO won’t save him this Sunday. He said he’ll prove once and for all…. Triple H’s music plays and he comes out. Triple H is about to talk but Rollins wants to finish his thought. He says he dismantled Ziggler and this Sunday he will prove that this is his WWE and he is the man when he pins Randy Orton’s shoulders to the mat and rendering Kane useless. Kane comes out but Triple H and J&J run up to stop him. The cage lowers as Rollins is still in the ring. Orton gets in the cage and Rollins is trapped. Rollins tries to get away but Orton catches him and RKO’s him as Rollins falls off the top rope. Kane smiles as Triple H looks on with a serious look on his face.
They plugged Hulk Hogan’s Rock N’ Wrestling.
