WWE Monday Night Raw Results 7/27/15: Rollins vs. Cena, Owens vs. Orton

Welcome to the WWE Raw pre-show and we are live on the WWE Network. Scott Stanford, Corey Graves and David Otunga. They hype what we will see tonight, which is Paige vs. Sasha Banks live on RAW. Also, Dean Ambrose will meet The Big Show tonight on RAW.

The usual promo code for Shop WWE is shown. There is a recap video of last week’s episode of Raw.

Video highlights of the John Cena – Seth Rollins feud is shown.

Kevin Owens vs. Randy Orton is set for tonight’s episode of RAW. Also, Becky and Charlotte vs. Alicia Fox and Nikki Bella has been announced for Raw.

Welcome to WWE Monday Night Raw, there is a recap video of last week’s episode of Raw. The Authority walks down to the ring with Seth Rollins. They welcome us to the show and Triple H has a big announcement. SummerSlam will be bigger than ever and just three-hours is not going to cut it.

Now, SummerSlam will be four-hours long. The main event will be Taker vs. Brock Lesnar. Tonight will be epic as well. Tonight will be a night of firsts. Triple H announces Big Show vs. Dean Ambrose, Paige vs. Sasha Banks, Kevin Owens vs. Randy Orton and finally, Alicia Fox and Nikki Bella vs. Charlotte and Becky Lynch. Seth Rollins brought up that he beat Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania to become champion and then beat him at Battleground to retain champions. Rollins said that he was the greatest WWE Champion of all-time.

John Cena hit the ring and started cutting a promo on Rollins about him being a jacka**. He said that out of all of the men that have held that title he’s the best? Cena said that tonight we need to find out who’s telling the truth, he wants to know from the Authority. Cena thinks because tonight is all about new matches then he should face Rollins tonight. Rollins told Cena to shut up and respect the WWE Champion.

Stephanie asked the crowd if they want to see Cena vs. Rollins? They popped huge and she announced that they wouldn’t do that tonight because Cena has to earn it. Triple H agrees, but does book the two in a U.S Championship match and not for the WWE Championship.

-Commercial Break-

WWE announced during RAW that the Steve Austin Podcast returns next week when the WWE Hall of Famer interviews Paige on the WWE Network.

Singles Match: Dean Ambrose vs. The Big Show with Miz on commentary

Big Show with a big shoulder block, but missed a second and went flying to the floor. Ambrose hit a dive through the ropes (twice) taking the big man off his feet. Ambrose to the top rope and went for an elbow drop, but Big Show hit him in the chest (mid-air) to send us to break.

-Commercial Break-

We’re back with The Big Show in control of Ambrose. Ambrose reversed an Irish whip and hit a running knee to the jaw of Big Show. Ambrose with a sleeper hold on the giant, but Big Show shoved him off. Ambrose used the top rope to his advantage, then went for a dive off the top rope, but caught and Big Show sent him flying. Big Show covered him for 2. Big Show went for the chokeslam, but reversed and Ambrose hit a DDT. Ambrose went a series of jabs, but ran into a chokeslam for the near fall. Big Show with a second one, but Ambrose rolled to the floor. Ambrose back in the ring, but was super kicked by Big Show that sent him to the floor. Big Show with a spear to Ambrose. Big Show walked to the floor, Ambrose hopped in the ring and went for a dive through the ropes, but ate a KO punch in the process. Big Show won this match by count out.

Result: Big Show via count out.

Post-match, Big Show went for a spear, but Ambrose moved and Big Show went crashing to the barricade.

Singles Match: Neville vs. Fandango

Neville off the ropes, but ran into a clothesline by Fandango. Fandango then locked in an arm submission, but Neville fought out and hit a jawbreaker. Neville with a dropkick sending Fandango to the floor and then hit a dive taking out Fandango. Back in the ring, Neville hit the Red Arrow for the win.

Winner: Neville

Stardust appeared on the big screen following the match and cut a promo that referenced superheroes and arrows.

-Commercial Break-

Paige is seen talking to Charlotte and Becky Lynch. Paige said that they are changing the Divas division with their actions. We then see Team Bad interrupted and said that the Divas revolution is all about Team Bad. They started arguing about who started the Divas revolution.

-Commercial Break-

A very good hype video is shown for Sasha Banks.

Singles Match: Paige vs. Sasha Banks

They lock up and fall to the floor outside. Back in the ring, Paige hit a running knee to the face of Banks for 2. Paige with a series of elbows to the face of Banks in the corner. Banks ducked a clothesline and rolled her up for 2. Banks with an arm drag, then went for a drop kick, but Paige had the same idea and faced off. Banks extended her hand, but Paige had none of it and took Banks down to hit her with a headbutt for 2. Paige hit a fallaway slam for 2. Paige with an arm lock, but moments later, Banks fought out. Banks missed a forearm shot and Paige hit a superkick knocking Banks out to the floor. Paige went to the top rope and hit a dive taking out Team Bad and sending us to break.

-Commercial Break-

We’re back with Banks in control of Paige. She hit a clothesline on Paige for 2. Banks locked in an arm submission, but the fans got behind Paige and she fought out. Paige with a back elbow, big boot and then a running knee to the face of Banks. Paige with a series of right hands. Paige is with a drop kick and a super kick. Paige went for the PTO, but blocked, so she hit a running knee for a near fall. Banks ducked a clothesline and hit a double knee strike in the corner to the neck of Paige for 2. Banks went for a knee strike again, but Paige caught it and locked in a chin lock, but Banks got to the bottom rope. Banks reversed a powerslam and hit the Bank Statement for the win.

Winner: Banks.

Post-match, Banks kicked Paige out of the ring and stood tall in the ring.

Seth Rollins cut a backstage promo about how tonight he’ll become the new U.S Champion following his win over John Cena in the main event.

-Commercial Break-

Rusev is in the ring with Summer Rae and begins to cut a promo about how he treats a woman. He gives her a puppy. She asked him what it’s name and he said Dog Ziggler. He then gave her a fish, she grabbed it and the fish doesn’t have a head. Rusev called this normal looking fish a “goldfish.” This is comedy folks. Lana walked down to the ring and said that Rusev needs to stop lying about her. Lana said that that Rusev is pathetic for dressing Summer Rae up like her. Rae mocked her and ate a kick to the thigh for it. Lana started shoving Rae’s face into the fish. Lana left the ring and walked to the back. Rusev threw the fish at Lana as she walked to the back.

We are shown highlights of last week’s brawl between Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker.

Tag Team Match: Lucha Dragons vs. Los Matadores with the Prime Time Players on commentary.

Diego and Sin Cara started things off, Cara went for a splash in the corner on Diego, but missed it and flew over the top rope to the floor. The Matadores double teamed Cara until he fought back and go the hot tag to Kalisto, who hit a DDT to Diego for 2. Kalisto hit a springboard kick, sending Fernando to the floor. Kalisto got the crowd involved, but The New Day walked down to the ring and Diego hit a drop kick to Kalisto followed the distraction. New Day walked down to the ring with a sign that said Mega Dad of the year with an arrow pointed down at Kofi. Big E was skipping. Back in the ring, Kalisto rolled up Diego for the win.

Winners: Lucha Dragons.

-Commercial Break-

Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper walked down to the ring. Wyatt cuts a promo about how everyone has a family. He wants to know if they love their families? He said that the world is not a paradise and everything is not going to be alright. Wyatt said that their parents do not love them and the truth can be shocking.

The sooner you find out that the truth hurts is the time that you can find out that freedom is worth a price, but worth it. He once had a pet, but that pet wanted to know what the real world was like. That pet found out and came back to him. He knew that the pet was changed and it never left him again.

Wyatt said that he had to do the same for Luke Harper. This leads to Harper cutting a promo about how at a time he didn’t know his purpose on this earth. He (Bray Wyatt) showed him the truth and that the fans are the ones who have created the monster that is himself. He thanked Wyatt for setting him straight. Wyatt grabbed the mic and said that he’ll do the same for Roman Reigns.

-Commercial Break-

Tag Team Match: Becky Lynch and Charlotte vs. Nikki Bella and Alicia Fox

Nikki Bella and Becky Lynch started things off, Nikki worked over the left arm of Lynch in the early going. Lynch fought back, tagged in Charlotte and they hit a double dropkick on Nikki. This led to Nikki forcing Charlotte into her corner and tagging in Fox, who landed a big forearm shot to Charlotte. Fox went for a submission, but blocked by Charlotte and Charlotte rolled to tag in Lynch. This led to Becky hitting a drop kick followed by a snap suplex on Fox. Lynch with a fallaway slam for 2 as Nikki broke it up and sent Lynch into the ring post. Charlotte took out Nikki with a spear. Fox went for a roll up on Lynch, but Lynch rolled through with an armbar for the win.

Winners: Becky Lynch and Charlotte

We get a recap clip of Patrick being eliminated on Tough Enough.

Singles Match: Randy Orton vs. Kevin Owens with Sheamus on commentary.

Both men brawled out of the ring and to ringside. Orton sent Owens into the barricade and then back into the ring.

-Commercial Break-

Back from break, Owens had Oton in a headlock, but Orton fought out. Owens cut him off with a clothesline then a back splash for 2. They exchanged uppercuts and Orton hit a back breaker to buy him some time to regroup. Owens with a clothesline, he went for a cannonball, but Orton moved. Orton with a powerslam that popped the crowd. Orton hit a fallaway slam that results in Owens rolling to the apron. Owens used the top rope to his advantage, he went for an Irish whip, but reversed and Orton sent Owens into the barricade. Sheamus hit a Brogue kick to Orton causing the DQ.

Winner by DQ: Orton.

Post-match, Sheamus went to attack Orton even more, but Cesaro ran down and attacked Sheamus. Cesaro leaped out of the ring taking out Owens as well. The numbers game got to Cesaro when Owens hit a pop-up powerbomb on Cesaro. Owens and Sheamus stood tall in the ring to close the segment.

U.S Championship Match: John Cena © vs. Seth Rollins

They lock up, Rollins took him down and put the boots to Cena.

-Commercial Break-

Back from break, we’re back with Rollins having Cena in a headlock. Rollins transitioned into a snap suplex for 2. Rollins with a headlock takeover and then a kick to the face of Cena. Cena with a shoulder block and then a snap DDT for 2. Rollins pushed Cena out of the ring and followed up with a dive through the ropes. Back in the ring, Rollins hit a diving knee strike to the face of Cena. Rollins went for another dive, but caught by Cena and Cena sent him crashing down to the mat face first. They exchange right hands, Rollins with a knee to the face of Cena. Cena is bleeding badly from the nose. Rollins with a kick to the face of Cena, Rollins went to the top rope, but Cena caught him with a right hand. Cena went to the top rope with Rollins, Rollins with a sunset flip into a powerbomb for a near fall. A doctor comes in and checks on Cena. The doctor leaves and Rollins went for a pedigree. Cena blocked, then hit the springboard stunner. Cena went for an AA, but blocked and Rollins hit a superkick to Cena for a near fall. Cena popped up and hit the AA for a near fall. Cena went to the top rope, Rollins hit a suplex, then rolled through into a sit down powerslam. Wow. Rollins went to the top rope and missed the Phoenix Splash, Cena locked in the STF and Rollins tapped.

Winner and still champ: Cena.

Cena stands tall in the ring with a wicked broken nose to close the show.
