Edge accepts Austin Theory’s open challenge

Seth Rollins vs The Miz

Mustafa Ali vs Dolph Ziggler

Sami Zayn opened the show as the fans chanted, “Sami, Sami:, and “Ole, Ole”. Sami says he feels grateful, but also feels like he let the fans down, but now realizes the story is never over. He said we are entering the final chapter and asked Kevin Owens to come to the ring. Zayn said he wants to tell him thank you and he’s sorry, but he knows things got messy and he doesn’t know if there’s any coming back with him. He also knows Owens said he only cares about one thing, and that’s taking down The Bloodline. Zayn said it’s also his mission. He said neither one of them could do it alone, and the only way to do it, is to do it together. Owens said he doesn’t need his gratitude because what he did on Saturday wasn’t for Zayn. He did it for his family because they sat there at Royal Rumble and saw him get beat up with Zayn watching. He also did it for Zayn’s family so they wouldn’t have to watch him get beaten up by The Bloodline like his family had to watch it happen to him. Owens said he’s been fighting The Bloodline on his own and he’s going to continue to do so. Owens told Zayn at Survivor Series that he was done with him and that still stands today, but if he needs help taking down The Bloodline, then he needs to ask his buddy Jey. Owens walked out.

As we were heading to the break, Zayn was making his way up the ramp when he was attacked by Baron Corbin and continued to do so throughout the break. As they returned from the break, Corbin was in the ring and said he was the last person to beat Roman Reigns. He said Reigns destroyed Zayn in front of his family, his friends, and his country. He’s pathetic as he begged Owens to help him and Zayn’s story is over because he’s a failure. Zayn charged back into the ring and took down Corbin, punched him, and clotheslined him over the top rope. The announcers said Adam Pearce made the match and the bell rang.

Sami Zayn vs Baron Corbin:

Corbin hit Zayn with Deep Six followed by two running clotheslines on Zayn in the corner. Corbin went for a third one but was greeted by a Helluva Kick by Zayn which resulted in the pinfall on Corbin. Winner: Sami Zayn

Backstage, Bryan Saxton interviewed Rhea Ripley and Dominik. Ripley said Beth Phoenix is in the past and she’s looking ahead to WrestleMania. Ripley said Charlotte Flair is still living in 2020 and refuses to see she is the best female in WWE. Ripley said she will walk out the new SmackDown Women’s Champion. Ripley will be on SmackDown this Friday with Charlotte Flair. Dominik said Rey Mysterio has a match on Friday, so he might as well show up to wish him luck.

Backstage, Austin Theory said he’s banged up from Elimination Chamber. The headline should say he is the Now and Forever in WWE, but instead it says John Cena is coming back in two weeks to Monday Night RAW. Tonight he gets to beat Edge, a Hall of Famer. After that, he’s going to continue his reign into WrestleMania and he will never lose.

Dolph Ziggler vs Mustafa Ali:

Cody made his way to the ring. As Cody was about to speak, Paul Heyman appeared with a neck brace on the Titan Tron. Cody told him to come to the ring and talk. Heyman said he was mauled on Saturday and what should have been a celebration for The Tribal Chief ended up being a tragedy for The Wise Man. He assured Cody the true tragedy of this story that Cody wants to finish will befall upon him. Heyman told Cody he can’t beat Roman Reigns. He said even if Cody wins the title, he will have to be on the road 300 days a year. Heyman reminded Cody that Dustin said Dusty was never home, and when he was home, he wasn’t really home. He asked Cody if he is ready to do the same thing and live that life for his family. He said Cody’s dreams can turn out to be his worst nightmare. Cody said he has to finish the story and beat Reigns at WrestleMania.

Otis told Reed that nobody talks to Master Chad Gable like that.

Dakota Kai said they will continue to dominate the Women’s Tag Team division. Becky Lynch came out. She wants to take those tag team titles into WrestleMania with one person in mind. Lita’s music hit. Lita challenged Damage Control to a title match. Bayley hesitated, and Lynch asked her if she was scared. Bayley accepted the challenge and SKY and Kai looked up set at Bayley for accepting on their behalf.

Backstage, Candace LeRae told Byron Saxton that Johnny Gargano got pretty banged up in his Elimination Chamber match. She saw Nikki Cross and confronted her as to why she has been following her around for months. Cross whispered in LeRae’s ear and left. Saxton asked LeRae what Cross said. LeRae said all of her friends are gone and she’s alone, and then stopped answering that question. She then said Gargano will be back.

Chad Gable (with Otis) vs Bronson Reed

Maxxine Dupri showed up at ringside. Gable gave Reed a Belly to Back Suplex. Gable got distracted when he saw Otis outside the ring with Dupri handing him her card. Reed splashed Gable from behind and gave him a suplex. Reed came off the top rope with the Tsunami for the pin. Winner: Bronson Reed

In the ring, Elias asked who wants to walk with him at WrestleMania. Bobby Lashley came out. Lashley beat up Elias, speared him and put him in The Hurt Lock. Lashley said he got Lesnar in the Hurt Lock and Lesnar couldn’t escape, so he had to stoop to a low blow. Nobody in the locker room can break the Hurt Lock. He won’t be disrespected by anybody in the locker room or he will put them down.

Backstage, Edge said Judgment Day is in the rear view and Beth is back home with the girls. He has accepted Austin Theory’s open challenge because he hasn’t held a title in a long time and he knows his time is running out.
