CM Punk made his way to the ring. He said I came back to WWE for two reasons, to headline WrestleMania and to be world champion. I won the gauntlet match, so now I get my opportunity to go after the World Heavyweight Championship. This brought out Gunther. He said we both have a lot in common. We’re both here to make money and win championships. We both have big egos. We both consider ourselves the best in the world, but the best is the one holding the World Heavyweight Championship and I will defeat you at SummerSlam. 

Backstage:

Naomi told Stephanie Vaquer that after I win my match at SummerSlam, it’s going to be you and me at Clash in Paris.

Rusev vs Sheamus

Rusev exposed the top turnbuckle, but Sheamus rammed Rusev’s head into it. As the referee had his back turned to put the turnbuckle pad back on, Rusev grabbed the shillelagh. When he went to use it, Sheamus hit him with the Brogue kick. The referee turned around and counted the pin. 

Winner: Sheamus

Backstage:

Dragon Lee confronted El Grande Americano. He said you are a fake and you are disrespecting all of the Luchadores. El Grande pushed Lee and they brawled until the agents broke them up.

Backstage:

Lyra Valkyria asked Bayley if it’s true that she asked to partner with her for a tag team title shot. Bayley said it’s true because we didn’t get to do that at WrestleMania. Valkyria said I beat your ass last week and I’m going to be at you at SummerSlam. That’s what’s next for me, so what game are you playing? Bayley said that’s water under the bridge. The game we are playing is winning. I’ll see you out there. 

#1 Contender’s Tag Team Match: The LWO (Cruz Del Toro & Joaquin Wilde) (w/Dragon Lee) vs The Creed Brothers (Brutus & Julius) (w/Ivy Nile) vs The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods)

Dragon Lee and the Creeds started fighting. El Grande Americano came to ringside and attacked Lee. The Creeds got mad at El Grande saying they know who he is. Inside the ring, Wilde rolled up Kingston to score the pinfall. 

Winners: LWO

Backstage:

The Kabuki Warriors said they are going to become Women’s Tag Team Champions at SummerSlam and told IYO SKY she will be World Women’s Champion again. Stephanie Vaquer approached IYO and said if you win at SummerSlam, we will face off at Clash in Paris to find out who would have won in Las Vegas. IYO said if I remember correctly, I had you beat. Vaquer said we don’t need to wait for Paris to find out. SKY said let’s find out tonight in Houston and Vaquer accepted the challenge.

Backstage:

Adam Pearce told Dominik Mysterio to come with him to medical and we can see if you are cleared to wrestle. Dominik said I can’t because Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez texted him and they need him at ringside. AJ was mopping the floor like a janitor and told Dominik by the time he’s done mopping the floor, he better be cleared. 

The New Day said we need something to create an advantage. Grayson Waller said Austin Theory is A-Town Down and injured. That’s 240 pounds of dead weight off my back. If you’re looking for an ace, I’m a free agent so look no further. The New Day didn’t look interested in his offer at all.

Becky Lynch made her way to the ring and called out Lyra Valkyria. Becky said I’m 1 and 1 against you. I brought out the best of you and made you a star, but that free ride ends at SummerSlam. I agreed last time that if I didn’t beat you, I can never challenge you for this title again. Now, I’m extending the same invitation that if you don’t beat me, you can’t challenge for this title again. Lyra said I accept those terms, and my terms are there can be no count-outs, do disqualifications, and there must be a winner. Becky said that’s fine. Becky extended her hand to Lyra, but Lyra expected an attack as she blocked a punch from Becky and gave her the Manhandle Slam.

WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Match: Raquel Rodriguez & Roxanne Perez (champions) (w/Dominik Mysterio) vs Bayley and Lyra Valkyria 

Dominik got on the ring apron, but Bayley stopped him from interfering. Lyra came over to confront Dominik. Raquel went to kick Lyra from behind, but Lyra ducked and she kicked Dominik. Dominik and Raquel both called for medical help. Medical came out to check on Dominik, but AJ Styles came out and started giving him CPR. Dominik immediately got up and ran away. With the referee distracted by this, Becky Lynch ran down and grabbed Lyra off the ring apron and threw her into the ring steps. Bayley went for the tag, but Lyra was still out. Raquel gave Bayley the Tejana Bomb and pinned her.

Winners: Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez

Backstage:

Sami Zayn said medically, I could have used some more time off, but this does not need to drag on any longer. If it wasn’t for Karrion Kross, I could have been in that gauntlet match last week and had a World Championship opportunity, so I’m dealing with this tonight. 

Backstage:

Adam Pearce told Dominik Mysterio that you’re either going to medical to see if you’re cleared or you are giving me the Intercontinental Championship and I will find a new champion.

Sami Zayn vs Karrion Kross (w/Scarlett)

As the referee was checking on an injured Zayn, Scarlett handed Kross a pipe. Zayn was setting up to deliver a Helluva kick, but Scarlett grabbed his legs. As the referee was warning Scarlett not to interfere, Kross hit Zayn in the ribs with the pipe. The referee turned around and counted the pin on Zayn.

Winner: Karrion Kross

Backstage:

Adam Pearce and AJ Styles asked the medical doctor what the status of Dominik Mysterio is. As the doctor was saying he finished the evaluation, but still has to finish the paperwork, Dominik attacked Styles from behind. Dominick said he is cleared and will see Styles at SummerSlam.

IYO SKY vs Stephanie Vaquer

Piper Niven and Alba Fyre got on the ring apron, but Vaquer fought them off. With Vaquer still distracted, Chelsea Green attacked her from behind and threw IYO out of the ring which caused the referee to call for the bell. IYO came back and dropkicked Green from off the top rope. She then punched Fyre who fell out of the ring and pulled Niven off Vaquer. Vaquer and IYO landed a double dropkick on Niven which sent her out of the ring.

Naomi hit the ring and pushed IYO into Vaquer which sent Vaquer out of the ring. Niven and Fyre began kicking Vaquer outside the ring while Naomi beat up IYO inside the ring. Rhea Ripley ran to the ring, kicking Niven and throwing Fyre into the ring steps along the way. Ripley attacked Naomi, sending her out of the ring. With Ripley’s back turned, Green was getting set to attack Rhea when IYO and Vaquer kicked Green in the head. Ripley then hit Green with the Riptide. 

After the commercial break, Paul Heyman, Bron Breakker, and Bronson Reed made their way to the ring. Heyman said before Roman Reigns comes to the ring, I have a lot to get off my chest. Before he could say a word, Reigns came out. Heyman told Reigns that Seth Rollins is going to be out of action for a long, long time. This opens up a leadership role which means we can put this back together. We are better together than opposing each other. You’ll always be my family because I love you, my Tribal Chief.

Roman Reigns said a few years ago, I would have said those are wise words from a wise man, but you’re not a wise man anymore. You’re just a dumb ass. He told Breakker that what he’s going to do to you is what he did to me. In a few years when you’re the man around here, he’s going to take all the credit.

Reigns told Heyman I made you a part of my family and you threw it away for a best friend you didn’t talk to in 10 years. Breakker told Reigns he is old news. Heyman won’t stab me in the back because I hold value in this place. You’re worthless and I’m the big dog now, I’m the future, and I’m the man around here now.

Reigns gave Breakker a Superman punch and started brawling with Reed. Reigns turned around and got speared by Breakker. As Reed started to climb the ropes for the Tsunami, Jey Uso charged the ring. Jey speared Breakker while Reigns speared Reed to end the show.
